Who cares who the 99% are.... in America...you can become what you want to be....and still live great outside the 1%.
I bet you will not find an illegal protesting in downtown Denver because they believe their standard of living is fantastic...you might find their first generation anchor baby who had indoctrination by american public schools.

I imagine you are right. Even as a legal immigrant, I would not be involved in such a greedy demonstration because I've been able to raise my standard of living while living in the US.
I just returned from Occupy Phoenix, where I was overwhelmed by the turnout (thousands) and by the fact that so many there were senior citizens!
We carried our signs, we signed petitions, we participated in democracy in action. We made new friends, and had lively discussions there in Chavez Plaza.
It was well-organized for a rally without a real leader; except, as one speaker pointed out, Occupy Wall Street is not a movement without a leader, it is a movement of leaders.
Even the police seemed relaxed! And, as a sign I saw stated, "the police are only one layoff away from joining us".
It was a good, good day - refreshment for the soul.
So much for the "they're all a bunch of lazy students/hippies/union thugs."

Lots of senior citizens what to make sure they social security socialist program continues....they enjoy the $1 value meal at McDonalds.
And what precisely did their signs have to say? And, what does so many mean in terms of actual numbers? "we participated in democracy in action" It makes it seem like it is the first time they had done that. I guess voting is not a sexy enough participation. With the thrust being against anything and everyone that has managed to accrue wealth, I really have little respect for such senior citizens. They like the wealthy have made choices in life. I they really want to participate in democracy in action, then they can vote, or better yet, become active and run for office .. any office and make use of what wisdom they have. Instead they hang out carrying signs. Just exactly what will that accomplish? Does it reflect the attitude "I'm pissed off and read what I have to say." Big F***ing deal. Once again none take real responsibility in hand, but beg others to do it for them. And, Archer, am I supposed to be impressed by their senior citizen status? Is it supposed to carry added weight or is it simply to bring one small bit of observation against a multitude of youth? Let's look at the percentages of youth vs senior citizens and then we'll talk again.
That's okay... Judging from their signs, they really have little respect for you either. If you think it's only about disparity of wealth, then you've missed the whole point anyway...

As if that matter. I'm not in need of their or your respect. The primary focus and motivation is exactly for redistribution of wealth and and railing against corporate greed. Of course the aims are so poorly defined, the "it" could be virtually anything. But, Wall Street is the financial center of wealth, so if that is not the primary focus, what the hell are they doing there then. Why not focus on what is the primary target?? Be so kind as to enlighten me.
The articles, links and charts have already been posted. I'm not in the mood to post them again because you are too lazy to read them. And your agreement/acceptance of them is not needed anyway....(any more than my respect of that astro-turf teabagger movement is.)
