I ADDED ONE NEW JOB TO THE ECONOMY LAST MONTH. I hired a new employee, full time, with incentives and commission. This job was a result of a new idea and is not simply a displaced or moved job, actual innovation.
Ah, yes... Everyone must see it your way. Everyone must WANT to be a business owner. Everyone must have the same drive, ambition and the tolerance for possible failure that you do. Everyone must have the same capabilities. And if they don't, then they are less than you. No tolerance for those who don't
No LJ, I want everyone to have reasonable opportunity. Right now there is more opportunity to create a job than to get one. You probably remember from starting your company that it was not as hard as people make it out to be and that the biggest challenge(s) is dealing with the 10-15 govt. agencies that you must report and pay regardless of how much you make...though you will pay more if you make more, but that is part of taxes (I accept that under the current system or the new 11-11-11 plan).
My way is certainly not the only way...but come on...admit it....everyone cannot be an employee and our problem partially comes from too many big companies and not enough small ones. You must also admit that being an employee is somewhat risky, esp if you only have one job. What happens when you loose that one job, you make no money and have to lean on family, friends and if they cannot help you, turn to unemployment insurance...which then handicaps the last company your worked for making it harder for them to make another job, etc. etc. (because as you know as a business owner and former employee - unemployment taxes are primarily if not completely paid by the employer, depending on your state - yes I do understand that these, as with all employee related expenses such an WC and SS/MC matching, lower the employees income but for a reason - they fund our safety net for when people fail to make their own income in the free market).
My point is that MORE people, not ALL people, should start their own organizations...and we certainly do not need 300 million people including little babies, the crippled and elderly to all start companies, that is exaggeration to make a point, but a big overshot. If you work in this world, employee or owner or tenant farmer....we all know that most employees or subordinates have a vision of how it could be done better than the organization they are currently working for....if they only did this or that, etc.....and that is the seed for the next company, the next job creator...and small companies rarely outsource.
As a company owner, I figure you experience and suffer through most of this stuff first hand. Do you have employees? How do you feel about all the forms, behind the curtain taxes and time/or accountant/lawyer expense just to pay an employee?

Read Ayn Rand much?
Follow LJ's thoughts, lets celebrate mediocrity, hire the half fast (say it and you'll understand). Woo hoo! Our nation isn't failing fast enough.
The Oakland police's use of force seriously injured an Occupy activist and Iraq War veteran.
Scott Olsen, 24, remains sedated on a respirator, in stable but critical condition at Oakland’s Highland Hospital after being hit in the head with a police projectile.
Olsen's roommate, Keith Shannon, 24, told The Huffington Post that Olsen is still in the emergency room.

Yeah, but he was probably a liberal Iraq War Veteran...That dehumanizes him enough to the Righties that he doesn't matter. "He shouldn't have been there...." Forget that silly "right of assembly."
