Lawmaker wants state to reinstate dwarf tossing

Again I will say if any of you approve of this had a little person as a child or relative, you might have a very different opinion of this. Dwarfs are people, just like you and me.

Would you feel the same about amputees (like spin the amputee) or blind people (put them in a maze and have fun watching them trying to get out)?

Never mind. You probably would. I'm tilling a windmills.

I guess I don't understand. Are the dwarfs forced into it, or do they participate willingly?

To me, that's not the question.

The question is why would you enjoy watching a handicapped person being made a fool of, even if the handicapped person willingly participated?

In 2001, the Little People of America, a non-profit group which provides support to people of short stature, said that dwarf tossing was an activity where ”the person with dwarfism is objectified and dehumanized in the name of ‘entertainment.”

Wouldn't it be better to reinstate democrat tossing from the White House?

Should we not allow the Broncos to play in the NFL, because they make fools of themselves every weekend?

I guess there is a certain audience for this kind of "entertainment", otherwise it wouldn't occur. Probably the same kind of people as those who go to dog fights and think it is "entertainment", even if a dog dies in the process, or go to the circus just for the side shows. To each their own I guess, personally I think it takes a sick mind to enjoy any kind of entertainment that involves the humiliation of another human being.

It seems that you have an emotional investment in this issue and I respect that, I just want to make sure I follow your logic. Are you making the argument that if dwarf tossing is legalized again in Florida that every dwarf in or near the state of Florida will unwillingly participate in dwarf tossing? Does dwarfism hamper an individual's free will, are persons with dwarfism unable to make choices for themselves?

I'm asking because I'm not a dwarf nor do I have any relations who are, I don't have the first hand experience you do in this area. I think your emotional investment in this topic has clouded your ability to reason and let free people make their own choices and do what they want and chose to do. Or would you rather make it illegal for citizens to have the freedom to make their own choices and do what they want to do? Sadly, our current administration is headed in that direction already.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
