That is quite the assembly of hard-working responsible people. Seems to me the copycats have no notion of what they are doing other than to act like morons begging for a confrontation. Then when it happens they are totally surprised. Yep, a real intellectual lot.
Occupy Oakland: Hundreds of teachers fail to show up for work
Hundreds of teachers failed to show up for work Wednesday as Occupy Oakland protesters called for a citywide "general strike" to protest economic conditions.
An estimated 16% of teachers in the Oakland Unified School District did not show up to class on Wednesday, said district spokesman Troy Flint.
The troubled district usually has about 2,000 teachers working on a given day and from 20 to 25 absent. On Wednesday, about 315 to 320 stayed away in response to the general strike. Occupy Oakland had called for “no work and no school” for the day.
Meanwhile back in Dogpatch, as many as two dozen individuals "held the line" for the forces of Occupy Denver overnight while the snow fell and the temperatures dropped. the "evil police force" even had the common courtesy and concern for their fellow human beings to stop by and check on their well being:
DENVER (AP) - About two dozen Occupy Wall Street protesters in Denver weathered a snowstorm by huddling around a barbecue grill and boiling water for coffee.
Protester Ben Meyer tells the Denver Post there were no problems despite snow and below-freezing temperatures.
Denver police stopped by on Wednesday to check on their safety.
Any predictions on how many Occupy Denver protestors will be standing around in front of the capital during the stock show? I'm betting a snap of -20F lows would be enough to clear the streets, watch me be wrong.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Something I posted on another thread... think about it...
I'm all for taking money from the rich.
I'm all for finding ways to make my self worth more and more to someone, to a company, to an idea, to a plan... so the rich will give me their money.
If I can be a clever enough entertainer, so the rich spend 75 dollars a ticket to see me in a stage show, then good.. I want their money. If I can be inventive enough so that the rich invest in an idea of mine, and I take their money to develop my idea... I want their money. I want to be better than the other guy, so the other guy is not taking money from the rich... I want that money.
There is nothing stopping me from taking money from the rich, I just have to be more creative, clever, smart, inventive or even devious, if that suits you, than the rich... and they will be bending over to give me their money.
Or I can be happy with the slice of the pie I am taking, that I have arranged for myself to have, on my own, with my own hands, my own brains, my own volition.
Either way, I like the idea of taking money from the rich. If it wasn't for the rich... that money wouldn't be there for the taking.

This has everything to do with the whiny little snowflakes that are currently roaming around the streets of Oakland and other cities breaking the law and acting like barbarians. I don't care what their complaints are, their freedom of speech stops when they decide to ignore laws, ignore public safety and ignore private property. So... I don't give a f**k about these entitlement babies. When they start showing some adult behavior, when they get off of their socialist soapboxes and figure out how they can be a productive member of society... then I'll be right along side of them. I'm as pissed off about the bipartisan money pit that has open in the ground known as Washington DC, but these goons are not interested in this country... they want a socialist paradise... a mob ruled democracy... they politically stand against everything our Constitution stands for. We are a Republic with laws. You support his now... but you would sh*t in your pants if the majority of your neighbors decided that Towermonkey needed to be run out of you community. That's the kind of government they want. Well... we don't let the mob rule. Period.
Don't get me wrong, these protesters have given a bad name to this particular movement which almost makes me wonder if its astroturf. They did start out protesting Wall Street and the bailouts that were handed to the banks ostensibly so they could loan money to us, but in reality so they could loan the government back their own money at interest. I saw a video explaining these mortgage bailouts where they clearly explained how the banks were being paid by our tax dollars to foreclose on our properties. You can cheerlead for these crooks if you want, but I'll take the other side every time.
