Come now TM, you would have us believe that 3 years of ongoing wars cost more than the $800 Billion (plus interest) SwindleUs Bill? I've seen estimates that the wars are costing about $10 Billion a month to wage, which would put the 3 year tally at $360 Billion. That's a far cry from the majority of the increase in the debt seen during the first 3 years of Obama's administration - it accounts for roughly 10% of it. That's a pretty long stretch from 10% to "much of the debt attributed to Obama", don't you think?towermonkey wrote: The debt went from 5.7 B under Bush to 10.3 B (two terms) and to 14.6 B under Obama's first term. Much of the debt attributed to Obama was two unfunded wars left over from
Bush. These are the facts regardless of the false percentages. They are both working for the robber barons.

Reaction to 9/11 Cost the Country Trillions
Direct costs related to the two wars is $2.2 trillion and climbing. When you factor in indirect costs including veterans benefits, homeland security, interest on the debt and related foreign aid, noted economist Joseph Stieglitz estimates that costs most likely exceed $5 trillion. The House Budget Committee issued a report that said procurement costs alone rose “seven-fold” from $7.2 billion in fiscal year 2004 to $61.5 billion in fiscal year 2008, when procurement spending peaked. As a share of appropriations, it grew from 10 percent to 34 percent of the entire Department of Defense budget.
