Hey... In 893 AD the Vikings waged a major offensive in Scotland in which "the flower of the Pictish nobility was destroyed". One of the first Victories recorded. Still looking for the date but can we make a holiday for that for all of us Scandinavian Americans?

Go for it. Americans are always looking for a good reason to party.

Vike, you should take back Christmas and celebrate it as Jul (Yule).

Cinco de Mayo is not a holiday of a certain race. It is a holiday of a certain nationality (Mexicans), like Christopher Columbus Day is celebrated by Italians.

You are kidding right? Race is not only a color, it is a nationality too. And Columbus Day is not an Italian Holiday. Many countries in the New World and elsewhere celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas. It has to do with AMERICA and his discovering the New World upon which we live. It is not about race.

You just said you were a Scandinavian American and wanted to celebrate the pillaging of Scotland by the Vikings.

So just out of curiosity, how many other countries celebrate July 4th with parades as America's Independence Day? None. Why do we as AMERICAN'S have a national holiday celebrating a Mexican holiday?
