When are the OWS thugs going to protest Chysler and GM - if its all about the bailouts?
By the way, the big guns of OWS protestors are flying into Denver this week... Major disruptions are expected downtown and potential violence ....this group will make the Occupy Denver knuckleheads look like 1st graders. Interesting no local media has reported this.

The messages have been broadcast and they have been successful in getting even some of the Republican candidates to bend towards their reasons for being there in the first place. They are already affecting the 2012 elections.

There are jobs to get and no, not every job is what I would call gainful employment, it's a job. In the current economy it will probably take two jobs for most people, that is the reality of the situation. Leaching off the state isn't helping to improve the economic situation, especially in the case of able bodied people who are fully capable of working for a living. I don't like it anymore than anyone else does.
If you are angry at the state of the economy vote in 2012 and do it as an informed voter. Between now and then there is nothing preventing anyone from sending letters, e-mails, and making phone calls to your elected representatives. Let them know you mean to oust them in the next election and you will hold them accountable. Hell, even hold a protest or two but do it with a focus, protest based on a platform of topics that hold the people that allowed this mess to be what it is today - our elected representatives.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

My basic question is not whether they have the right to protest, they do. I'm just asking if anyone here thinks this may end up like the Greece protests once most of the media moves on. Maybe they won't care if they lose the national spotlight, but personally, I don't think the remaining protesters will be willing to withstand the cold while being ignored. I think there are ugly scenes to come...jmo.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Really? the people of the United States don't have the right to protest anything but the government? Where does it say that?
The Consititution deals with the limitations of government. Nothing else. Your childish assumptions about it relating to all areas of human events is uneducated.
The only one being "childish" here is you... You apparently don't know how to read...
"Freedom of assembly, sometimes used interchangeably with the freedom of association, is the individual right to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue and defend common interests.[1] The right to freedom of association is recognized as a human right, a political freedom and a civil liberty.
Freedom of assembly and freedom of association may be used to distinguish between the freedom to assemble in public places and the freedom of joining an association. Freedom of assembly is often used in the context of the right to protest, while freedom of association is used in the context of labor rights and the Constitution of the United States, is interpreted to mean both the freedom to assemble and the freedom to join an association."
It doesn't say "ONLY" to address grievances against the government...

Laws and ordinances are being violated and the OWS crowd insists that they have the right to be where they are and continue to do what they are doing.
What are you talking about, it is 2011, if people gather, there are police and lots of them. Look at our schools and fairs in Park County. Any gathering of people is considered a threat to the police. Towns even limit the numbers of people that can live in houses together. If the police could turn off this forum they would....but I can assure you that we have a police presence here, because we are cyber gathering.
This in not a comment on OWS, it is a comment on your comment. It is off. They may be breaking some petty laws, but that is not why the police are there in the first place.
Oh, and I disagree, they are not fully protesting private firms, they are protesting a people that allowed a gov to allow companies to get so much influence, even if they don't know it yet.
Don't hold yourself accountable, don't make any effort to improve your own situation. It's far better to sit around, bitch and blame others, hold protests and wait for the Gubment to solve your problems, obviously that approach is working very well. [sarcasm font]Don't forget to sign up for all of the entitlement programs that you can find a way to qualify for, why be a tax payer when you can spend the tax payer's money for them instead? Maybe see about getting into some of that "free" Gubment housing, just think no more mortgage or rent payments! Lets all pile on to the welfare and unemployment wagons, that will help decrease the federal budget deficit![/sarcasm font] Be as unhappy as you want to be, it's easy when everything that is wrong with your own life is someone else's fault.
[sarcasm font]Better still, since the evil corporations are greedy and they owe us (insert your favorite goods and services here) we should organize some flash mobs, invade those businesses and take what they owe us! Sure, it's against the law but those laws are unjust, they only protect the evil corporations and rich people, that's how "the man" is keeping us down. Once we shutdown the evil corporations everyone will share what they have equally with everyone else, no one will hoard or have a secret stash and the world will be a better place. Once the repressed people around the world witness our example there will be a global revolution (except in Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela - they already have perfect economic systems)!
Oh wait... On second thought that whole revolution thing sounds like it will be a hassle, can't we get someone to do it for us? Besides none of us are pro-violence and it would really cut into our dope smoking time, besides getting hassled by the cops always harshs my mellow. Would it make more sense to load up the VW micro buses and convoy to Cuba, North Korea, or Venezuela? You never see anyone on TV protesting in those countries so the people there must be happy and I bet they have some killer dope (people+good dope='s happy). They have to let us in, they owe us man...[/sarcasm font]
Soulshiner, since you are [sarcasm font] so good [/sarcasm font] at pointing out why my suggestions are so impractical you must know what the real solution is. Would you care to enlighten us or are you just another enormous bag of malodorous (I'll save you the Google search, it means really stinky) fecal wind? I'm guessing it's the later.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I have a better idea... Let's prosecute the slimebags that rolled up all those worthless pieces of paper into packages they knew were no good, and sold them to other institutions after getting their buddies at the credit-rating agencies to lie and tell them that they were good investments. Let's prosecute the ones that never created anything but made tens-of-millions shuffling worthless paper around and finding ways to sucker people who had owned their homes for decades into refinancing into bad mortgages and then evicting them when the lies they put into .005 point fine-print were used to rig the game. Let's prosecute the slimebags that force people to train their own replacements...in other countries...right before laying them off, and hiding their profits offshore...
Yeah, it must be wonderful to sit on top of that "I've got mine, f**k you" throne.
