So Obama calls these millionaire bankers "fat cats", but when they are hired on to Fannie and Freddie, they get nice big fat bonuses...far beyond the average of the 1%. So if they get into failed government programs, these bankers go from fat cats to "private sector talent". Of course they would be paid big money regardless of performance, that's how our well oiled government works right? Why not pay them what we pay the POTUS and then if they actually perform, they get a bonus based on what accomplish?
Maybe the government should hire ex Mafia to run the DOJ....could it really be any different or worse?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

And while Freddie and Fanny executives are getting fat bonuses...
Freddie Mac Loses $6 Billion in Quarter - Published: November 3, 2011
WASHINGTON (AP) — The government-controlled mortgage giant Freddie Mac has requested $6 billion in additional aid after posting a wider loss in the third quarter. Freddie Mac said Thursday that it lost $6 billion, or $1.86 a share, in the July-September quarter. That compares with a loss of $4.1 billion, or $1.25 a share, in the same quarter of 2010. Freddie’s losses are increasing mainly for two reasons: Many homeowners are paying less interest because they are able to refinance at lower mortgage rates. And failing and bankrupt mortgage insurers are not paying out as much money when homeowners default.

Taxpayers have spent about $169 billion to rescue Fannie and Freddie.
So... now lets blame it on the homeowner who are making their payments. Hey... let's give those private sector talent some another tax payer financed bonus so they can fix this.

Just a guess on my part, I can't speak for others, but for me this is an issue that we on the left have already denounced - the corruption and favoritism of banking/lending institutions given by the government - and feel no need to repeat ourselves again. Just a guess. Also this sentence that you didn't quote at the bottom of the article demonstrates that it's not a partisan issue:
And some Democrats are as upset as Republicans. “It is outrageous that senior executives at Fannie and Freddie are receiving multimillion-dollar compensation packages when they now rely on funding from U.S. taxpayers, many of whom face foreclosure or whose homes are underwater,” Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., told Politico.
shows that it's not just Republicans who are outraged and trying to do something about it. It would be nice if the article would go into details and say how many in each party are working together on this, but in the end does it matter? They don't really intend to do anything about it - they're all paid off and this rhetoric is all for show.
Hmm, I guess you can call me CynicalChic now. :faint:
I'm going to go find my happy place again!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
How many times do we have to say yes, we feel the same about the fanny/freddy execs as we do about any banking/corporation executives that receive huge compensation packages while taxpayers/workers are struggling? Can you on the right say the same?
