Agreed. Now do you know of a politician who has a backbone and is honest?
Politicians, like most people, are self serving. Right now they serve the campaign contirbuters. (I'm betting they got some bucks from the engineering and construction companies). We have to show them that we will vote them out no matter how many campaign dollars they spend OR what party they belong to. I don't think many are willing to do that, and neither do they.
I have seen one teenage boy use it with his skateboard.
So, you see, if it saves just one life....
While I appreciate your point, Your observation and drawn conclusion assume that the teenager would have lost his life if not for the bridge. More teenagers may frequent the bridge as it does have a great slope on it for skateboarding.
As an aside, we have tried to inject levity into a tough situation. My take is that it is a far better approach than slinging political arrows to the left and right.

Here's the problem with that logic in my opinion. It doesn't matter who you vote out or who you vote in, which side of the political spectrum they fall on, they are not going to be able to buck the political class (i.e. Corporate cronies+politicians+special interest+kleptocrats+plutocrats = political class). No one gets into any of these offices without the blessing of the political class... on the local, state or federal level. And the few who do will not make it to another term. What we do down here in the trenches now a days is simply a diversion... a deflection, something to keep us separated, against each other, busy with politics as usual. And while we scurry around like little ants, feeling like we are making a difference, the political class is laughing their little a**es off at use, and proceed to party away with the wealth and the power.
