Yes, I'm sure you can, but this thread is about the Republican debate.

THE FACTS: It is widely believed ...

It is also believed ...

That doesn't seem like FACTS, to me.

That particular issue is that the candidates don't know if there are covert operations in Iran, yet they throw out their "facts" loosely about what operations are or are not taking place.

As do others, claiming they know the "facts", which they don't. Politics as usual, both sides.

Hold on here! Viking and I were having a perfectly wonderful discussion about subjects upon which we disagree. Archer interjected herself into the conversation. No one dragged her into it and then she would not accept the answer for which she sought. At that point she started maligning my motives, attitude, character, and my favorite quail dog.

Why is it that Viking and I can take polar positions on a subject, battle back and forth, and not drag it into the muck as did archer?

Since I only post on the weekend, I leave you to tear me apart in my absence.

Have fun and good night.

This is the exchange that started it all, I'll leave it to others to decide if I really did malign Arlen...and/or his dog. FYI, my first post was meant to be mildly amusing, so much for the conservative sense of humor.

Newt is intelligent to the extreme. I will not argue against that. He is sharp witted, has volumns of facts at his immediate recall, is an supreme debater. But he is not my guy. His baggage does not need to be discussed at this time because it would not be very constructive while we have a bunch of Democrats participating in these threads. (It is like trying to kiss your girlfriend while her younger brother is sitting on the couch with you.)

Do you really think you would be telling us anything we don't already know about Newt? Then what? we would call the Obama campaign and give them the lowdown on Newt's baggage? lol

No. But since you asked, it is because you are a bunch of jackals who are not sincere about your opinions or statements. In a political discussion your opinion is just so much chaff which must be separated from the grains.

Any other questions?

The posts went downhill from there, as I'm sure many can well imagine.

Have a good week Arlen,

I told you. She attacks first, then pulls the 'poor me, I'm a little old lady' routine and a few of her freinds rush to her side disregarding all facts. It happens almost weekly with her and it gets old.

And in answer to your question Arlen, we know how to act like adults. And by the way, if I haven't said it, I really do appreciate the debate that we can have without throwing out random insults like archer does. (attack from her or one of the others who still won't admit she likes to start this crap, is forthcoming)

Arlen,

Let me know if I'm wrong, but it seems you support Cain.

If so, aren't you concerned about his 9-9-9 plan? Do you think it's a good idea to add a new national sales tax? Do you want to tax business for their revenues rather than profits? If so, even businesses that lose money will get taxed unlike the current tax based on profits.

And are you willing to have a big tax increase for the middle class while giving the wealthy a huge tax cut?

Based on current tax policy vs. the 9-9-9 plan, the Tax Policy Center says the middle class will get about a $4000 tax increase, while those making over $1 million would save about $455K.

Is that really what a conservative wants? Or do you doubt the figures? If so, why?

Exactly, and here is their chart. Look at the Average Federal Tax change column third from the right, it shows the difference in what his plan will have on each tax bracket.

And by the way, thanks for getting us back on track with the original topic and an adult discussion agian. Let's hope no one starts the attacks again.
