Poll: Newt Surges Into First Place

14 Nov 2011 11:49 #1 by Wayne Harrison
Newt Gingrich has taken the lead in PPP's national polling. He's at 28% to 25% for Herman Cain and 18% for Mitt Romney. The rest of the Republican field is increasingly looking like a bunch of also rans: Rick Perry is at 6%, Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul at 5%, Jon Huntsman at 3%, and Gary Johnson and Rick Santorum each at 1%.

The Candidate Of The Week drama continues. Hell, Pawlenty and Trump might as well get back in.

Or the "Flavor of the Week?" I'm still predicting a Cain-Newt or Newt-Cain ticket.

Newt has, or is it, had a lot of baggage. Will he be able to move on? With Cain's numbers still healthy, it does look like Republican voters don't care about Politco hack jobs. But will independents? Or it might be, by getting this stuff out early, Cain can still bounce back.

I just don't know if I can support such an immoral candidate even if I agree with his politics. Are personal ethics important any more or do we have to reconcile ourselves to leaders with the morals of alley cats?

We all make mistakes, my question to Newt, have ya learned from them? I want the better person, who can get us out of this mess..I think Newt can...no more obama.

Can we trust someone who has betrayed two wives who he has vowed before God to honor not to betray us? I don't know that I can. Character matters to me.

I never believe the PPP Democrat poll. They skew it to get in their candidates and are normally pretty far off from the others. The one I found interesting is the CNN poll that came out today too. Romney 24%, Newt 22%, Cain 14% and Perry 12%. Cain is dropping. And like they said, the next debate is on foreign issues too. Not good for him at all. The next open debate isn't until December. So 3 more weeks of Cain not being able to live off of 999 in debates. It will be interesting. And in that same poll they asked people sho they believed, the accusers or Cain. Men said 49-47% Cain, not great at all. But the women said 64-28% they believed the women over Cain. He can't get away from this unless he takes a lie detector test like he said. Then he can move on.

Supposedly Clinton was a great president and had zero morals from what I've seen. If we get someone if office with a brain, I could care less what they do in their personal lives...America is burning and Obama is just fueling the flames. I'm surprised Perry is still above 5%.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

And in that same poll it showed the head to head and Obama beats them all but he beats Cain by the widest margin. Just food for thought.
