No kidding. It's a bunch of bull crap. Those monks aren't keeping those soldiers at bay any more than a vole keeping a mountain lion at bay. It's a unrealistic, ideological wishful pap. I deal with reality. I stopped wishing on stars when I was 9 years old. It keeps me from getting burned. If you enjoy fooling yourself about the realities of the world... then have fun.
