These kinds of attacks happen all over the world every day...hate is a powerful emotion and fuels violence where ever it is allowed to be expressed un checked
But, it is not the job of the US to police the world. We can't even stop the hate crimes here at home.

Good point.... that changes everything. :Whistle

archer wrote: OK...I have read this ugly thread a couple times....where is the conservatives concern for the innocent lives lost? I read a lot of ugly accusations directed at liberals for not being concerned, but no actual statement of their own sympathy. Hypocrites.

Apparently this thread is here just as an excuse for the conservatives to vent their hatred of Muslims and liberals. A fine way to spend Christmas day.

And "outrage" words like "ugly" won't make the thread go away... although I do agree... what happened to these church goers at their family Christmas religious ceremonies is ugly... very ugly.

It is a shame that innocent people die everyday in this world due to acts that they have nothing to do with but were innocent by standers, or due to acts that they had no control over, or due to acts of nature or accidents.

So as tragic as that was, I am even more saddened by the loss of the three children and thier grandparents due to a fire. The mother lossed her whole family. This happened Dec 25th 2011 at approx 5am in Stamford Conn. Also the 4 soldiers in the last month that were lost in combat from the 1-41 Infantry in Afgainstan, one of those in the last week just before Christmas.

On the other side, I do not believe it is our responsibilty to deal with this terrorist group, we most likely will end up doing so, as we already have troops over there. I personally do not feel we should be committing troops anywhere else in the world.

You know, when I post stories about injustices against women, I don't expect every man on here to post their condemnation, nor do I harass and troll after them because they didn't, nor do I assume what they think or believe about that just b/c they didn't speak out against it, some people just find it obvious that it's a situation that is condemned by all and move on already. Lighten up.

Appreciated your statement "this attack is abhorrent and I absolutely, in every way conceivable, condemn it and the loss of each unique individual because of it." But don't try to hide it in all this slop about being clear or people not understanding you, because it doesn't fly. You made NOT A SINGLE STATEMENT BEFORE THIS STATEMENT about how abhorrent it was. And just because you "... don't expect every man on here to post their condemnation" has NO BEARING on the topic, or your lack of showing any sympathy (up to this point, after I had to berate you for 3 pages) on this matter. Your tap dancing and deflections about Muslim on Muslim terror, what kind of reactions you expect or don't expect when you post stories about injustices to women and your attempt to let yourself off the hook by letting EVERYONE off the hook... Debate 101... sophomoric to say the least.

But I do genuinely appreciated hearing your concern about these poor people that were killed.

I'm sorry that you see it as tap dancing and deflection, as that is not how I operate. If you go back and view my posting history you'll see that I am consistent in my regard for life and stance on violence and have posted similar statements as above from the beginning of my posting history so just because it's not said yet again in this thread, doesn't mean that I haven't said it before. As a geneticist, I have a molecular-based appreciation for the uniqueness that is each individual that has ever existed on this planet, and even for those who have not existed. I have previously posted studies showing that we are much more effective at reducing war and poverty, and increasing tolerance, acceptance, and understanding of others by working with other cultures, helping them build their infrastructure, schools, improving the sanitary levels of their living conditions, vaccinating whole populations to reduce disease burden, initiating scientific collaborations, and educating women about birth control and business.

This is a message board, you can't make people post what you want them to post, nor can you make them agree with you. When you harass them over and over again for "not saying X", or "not reading what you've posted", you keep putting the blame on them...maybe you aren't doing a good enough job of engaging them yourself, just a thought. At least that's how I view my postings on global warming: those who haven't agreed with me yet aren't "idiots" or "stupid", I consider it that I haven't done a good enough job of explaining what I know and what it means. And I may never, but I will keep trying and while doing so, I will respect the other person's views, listen to their arguments, and consider their data, but without calling them stupid, berating them, or harassing them. We all have different beliefs and things we support, rather than tearing others down for their faults, or broad-brush lumping "all liberals" or "all conservatives" into supporting "x" or not supporting "y", why not try to find common ground so we can focus on solving problems together? I mean, who really cares if "Liberal Z" didn't denounce this one act on this thread of this message board or "Conservative D" didn't post a thread denouncing Christian attacks on Muslims as well? It's not going to solve the problem of Nigerian Christians and Muslims fighting, or finding a way to compromise and live in relative peace, unless you are going to convince someone from here to physically go to Nigeria and broker a life-long peace agreement. It is not worth being so nasty to those who are our neighbors over something that may or may not ever directly affect us on our lifetimes.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

My screen name says it all. I'm just throwing back at you, Lady Jazzer, Netdude, Archer, Kate, Vice Lord and the rest of the socialist on this forum the same crap that they throw out to the conservatives here on a daily basis. My, my... your sentence above describes your "friends" to the tee. When I was browsing around here (before I registered) I saw all the broad-brushed remarks about conservative being made by the "rat pack" mentioned above, and I decided that it was about time to rub you faces in your own pile of feces that you dish out.

Seems to work wonderfully... because I haven't seen so much shucking and jiving coming from you all in a long time. It bothers you to have someone do EXACTLY what you all do to the conservatives... you don't like it a bit. No... it's going to be a long time before I back off... not until I see a little more of that finding "common ground" going on. Until then... tough titty.

But, I feel bad for you for you must be one empty mother f'er, real ugly inside and yes, that is a sad thing to have to live with day in and day out.

So, I have pity for you, siting in some ugly place thinking oh this is the most I can be, sitting back and attacking everyone that does not think like you..... well, It's a WONDERFUL thing that more people don't. This would REALLY be a f'ed up place if more of our neighbors were more like you, thank god they aren't.

So Merry Christmas, and I hope to god you find some heart buried in that little cowardly soul of yours so you can find SOME joy in something besides hating people that are not like you.

BTW.... my link was more meant for the OP and Outhouse338 than your useless ass..... you are just that, useless and nothing to contribute to the board, the community and frankly this world....

So, I will go back to enjoying my liberal/socialistic world that resides outside of this ugly place.... it use to be a nice place until you came here. So something I don't like to do is hit 'ignore' but for you it will be a pleasure and maybe I'll see 285Bound in a better light.... or just leave it be as it is, Dr.Phil's house of hate.

Words to live by... Since TLGT is nothing but a fascist carbuncle on the ass of humanity, I'll continue to use the IGNORE function....
