Sadly- I'm not suprised or as shocked as you would think- which is a very sad commentary about our government.
I would think that the entire left would be up in arms and ready to hang Obama for what he did yesterday. I know as a libertarian- this upsets me to no end. The Federal Government has over 10,000 laws rules and regulations to go after and detain terrorists- more than enough laws to go after criminals and enemies of the state- so why does it need a law that allows them to detain our citizens without any due process, a fundamental right of United States Citizens.
So why are they doing this? Why would Obama sign a law that he himself is saying he had “serious reservations” about the provisions?
This is the wholesale grab of our fundamental right to trial- what the HELL? Is anyone else out there concerned about this? I'm not so sure that the claims by some groups about the government getting ready to herd us into prison camps is not true!
President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) today, allowing indefinite detention to be codified into law. As you know, the White House had threatened to veto an earlier version of the NDAA but reversed course shortly before Congress voted on the final bill. While President Obama issued a signing statement saying he had “serious reservations” about the provisions, the statement only applies to how his administration would use it and would not affect how the law is interpreted by subsequent administrations.
The statute is particularly dangerous because it has no temporal or geographic limitations, and can be used by this and future presidents to militarily detain people captured far from any battlefield.
All I can say is that somewhere out there- Hitler has a great big smile on his face- proud as hell of Obama! We no longer are living in a free country when the military can detain us against our will without ever giving us our day in court!
All you liberals were so concerned about Bush taking away our rights with the Patriot Act- but Obama has re-instated that and signed our right to a trial away- where's the outrage?
You are all weak sheeple- and the day will come when laws like this will routinely used against us all!

Way ahead of ya! I'm pissed, and I've made no secret of the fact that this bill was an atrocity long before it was passed. Where's your outrage at all the Republicans that voted for this?
Those "lazy communist leeches" as you like to think of them, are out protesting this:
