Good point especially since the US last exported more than it imported.

We export refined products. We import oil.

speaking of bold attacks - there was a bold attack today - but not in the USA
in Tehran.

All it would take is to send over a lead lined fishing trawler full of radioactive material and blow it up in a major US harbor. Or hijack a cargo jet loaded up with uranium and crash it in San Fran and let the wind carry the radiation eastward.

At least as far as we know. I do not believe IMO, that we would be told if they found such a device and defused it or prevented the attack. I think it would cause to much craziness in the US. We may never know, then it again you may be right on the money and it has never happened or attempted.

I totally agree. If the attack was stopped early enough, the general public wouldn't know. My father in law was in air force Intel and he has told me a couple stories about airmen being lost on missions and their families told they died in training accidents.

While there are likely organizations that WOULD enjoy planting a bomb on the eastern seaboard, that's not Iran's style.

While many countries are irritated with Iran's antics (Iraq, most Arab countries, Lebanon, and of course, Israel) - all object to activities that are generally acknowledged by Iran. They tend to announce their intentions.

Iran IS decidedly confrontational and adversarial. However - they're also conventional. They're more likely to engage the US Navy than the USA, itself.

I would NOT confuse Iran with Al Qaeda --- they're very different.

One is a soverign country with bold aspirations, and a plethora of silly, irritating, and often disruptive antics.

One is a terrorist organization (which has incidentally attacked just as many Islamic targets as non-Islamic targets).

Imo Iran seems petty. First jailing stupid American hikersfor the attention and now arresting a former us soldier visiting his family. Meanwhile mossad takes out Iranian scientists with ease.
