Newts remarks are not racist.

Energy prices?... You mean the $2.88/gal at the pump I saw during December? The stimulus didn't fail...but as I recall, it was BUSH that signed TARP. It was BUSH that was losing 750,000 jobs/month for the last several months of his administration after presiding over the worst recession since the Crash of '29, which started in December, 2007... Yeah, I'll talk about a do-nothing Congress... But you keep repeating your talking-points... I'm sure the rest of the neo-cons heads will be bobbing up and down.

I think the facts show that both parties now believe the president runs all of our lives...and the economy. how sad.

Actually the party that believes goverment has all the answers is willing to give the community organizer in chief a pass for his hands off approach to recovery.
Really, 3 years later, it is still Bush's fault? Time to find a new talking point. Bush derangement syndrome to the Nth degree.

I bet if you asked the question, were you better off four years ago?, people would prefer the Bush times to the Obama mediocracy.

I bet if you asked the question "Were you better off EIGHT years ago?" in 2008, the roar would have been deafening.

If you want a different response to a different thread, perhaps you should start one. I don't read the content of your posts, and if the title is misleading, that's not my problem.

The specific statistics provided prove that Bush put more people on food stamps; and also proved that the largest group of people on food stamps were white...not black. But y'all have fun with all that deflection and lies. It seems to be the only thing you're really good at.

Point made... title was misleading, not intentional. I changed it.

Now...

"First off. Newt never used terms like "blacks, minorities, illegals" or any other label to designate who is receiving food stamps. He simply stated a documentable fact."

"If you see racism in that remark, then you spend too much time dividing our country into races, you spend too much time trying to read peoples minds and you spend too much time fabricating unsubstantiated stories... simply put... lies."

"Maybe white people need to be manufacturing a "make believe outrage" since according to the data, whites are the largest recipients of food stamp assistance. And maybe the rest of you that see race codes (isn't that a clever term, a list that anyone can add to as they see fit to manipulate the dialog) can tell us... what was racist about Newt's remark?"

Now maybe you can tell me how these remarks are racists?

But to help you along with your deflection, here is one example of Newt's views on the dependency of blacks on welfare:
"I will go to the NAACP convention and explain to the African-American community why they should demand paychecks instead of food stamps,” said Newt Gingrich at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire.",

Inferring that they African-American community is presently demanding food stamps instead of paychecks. Where does he state that whites should demand paychecks instead of food stamps? Particularly when there are many more whites receiving food stamps than blacks.

Your comment is pathetic liberal spin. You would rather find racism in any remark your political opponent makes instead of considering it there is merit in what he said. Damn the blacks and the browns that you are so fond of claiming that you are trying to help, the only thing they matter to you is as a political prop. Damn the fact that the comment is actually truthful and has nothing to do with hating blacks or trying to make blacks inferior. Damn the fact that the comment actually is truthful and is an extended helpful hand.

No... a liberal wouldn't tell a black to demand a paycheck. That makes them too self-dependent, and less dependent on government. Gee... I wonder why Newt would suggest that blacks demand paychecks? Could it be that "Black unemployment surged to 16.7% in August, its highest level since 1984, while the unemployment rate for whites fell slightly to 8%, the Labor Department reported." Newt is trying to build a bridge to the people in this country that need help the most.

For liberals, code words are used to stop a debate. Calling someone a racist is as easy as calling someone a Nazi. Both requires no proof, no comprehension and they are short, simple words that are hard to misspell. There is nothing racist in what Newt said. He is targeting a group that need help the most. It's a damn sight better than Obama who is trying to divide this country into classes. Newt is speaking to the truth when he says blacks should demand paychecks.

What would you suggest? How about telling blacks to demand something less?

Your answer is "42"? Ok... maybe I was wrong in my above comment. Maybe racist and Nazi IS[/i] to hard to spell for you.

There was a glitch in the submission process.

It is noted that once again you are deflecting. You requested that I offer proof as to why the Newt's remarks were racist and I complied by pointing out that making generalizations based on stereotypes of a class of individuals based on their skin color is the very definitition of racism. Or do you agree that blacks do not want paychecks but food stamps instead?

And yes, 42 is the answer.

It wasn't a generalization. 36% African-American on food stamps... "Black unemployment surged to 16.7%" gee... do you see any correlation? They do need pay checks. And I bet they want them. Obama hasn't delivered. Newt thinks he can. Not racist at all. Why don't you try thinking instead of just dropping debate stopping code words that have no statistics behind them. Unemployment rates and food stamp participation are hard figures... and have nothing to do with racism.
