I hate living amongst such backwood self centered haters- You people are the modern day witch burners, and it'l hit ya right in the face one day-So remember who told ya first. I'm not F-ing around now-You "conservatives" have somehow turned selfishness and hating into a virtue in your minds..Its sickening and I'll never attend picnics or VFW breakfests or anything else with you lowlifes.. I like unselfish, considerate, empathatic kind people. Always have- Thats how I was raised..My mother cared about me- I think many of you conservatives were beat as children, or just weren't loved at all..Thats what I've always thought- You're angry at the world, you hate people, you live in terror that someone might get some help when they're down, the very thought of someone getting free health care when they get sick makes you sick, and you blame ALL your misery on others..

Thank goodness. Keep up the good work guys. We don't need Vice Lord or any of his deliverance clan attending picnics or VFW breakfests (sp?) (Ie: breakfasts - for the spelling impaired). Did you see the his family photos?

You like his daughter on the left? Vice Lord... why do you let your 14-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table in front of her kids?

lighten up Francis! I don't think racism is based on low iq. Most likely it comes from experiences growing up and the people around you. It would be interesting to see if there is any genetic disposistion to racism. Like Japanese society?

I don't have to run with it... The research speaks for itself...And other similar studies have confirmed similar results, including lack of compassion (sociopathic behavior), and strident, rule-based authoritarian behavior that tends to regard all who are not like them as inferior.

If it looks like prejudice, sounds like prejudice, acts like prejudice, and smells like prejudice, it's probably prejudice...

....You can hear the surprise in my voice....

And yes, I wouldn't expect any of those who are described by the research to give any credence to it, and to dismiss it out of hand as slanted. What else is new...

Any links to those "similar" studies you are referencing... or did you just pull that out of your ass too? That butt of yours certainly contains a lot of bulls**t. If you had paid even a passing attention to one or more of the articles I linked to earlier up thread, you would understand that among reliable scientific studies and resources, intelligence and racism are not connected... take a few minutes and take your head out of your bulls**t filing cabinet and read some of the peer reviewed research that has been done on the topic and stop relying on newspaper opinion pieces.

So I try to open a business in a new town and there are lots of regs....then the guy I was going to rent space from that said he would get back to me by Tuesday does not, and is not returning calls. I think he said he was going on vacation or something and dropped the ball on calling me back while he could. This was important to me and now I am frustrated.....

...what is my instinct....Screw him, screw the town and screw the people that live there....but then I take a deep breath and just wait for him to get back....

....bigotry is quite natural, it comes very easily, perhaps more if you jump to conclusions, which you are bound to do if you are dumb or rushed or recently had this or that experience.

...living in groups too much larger than 30, now that's not natural and thus everything that is here in the courthouse etc.

I am not saying we should break up into 30 person bands and fight it out....just that human history and development did not prepare us to live the way we do today, it prepared us to live in small groups.

Bigotry ain't going nowheres fast, and learnin' people how to be smart won't change that, though you may sweep it under the rug for a little while.

The modern "conservative" or "Republican" groups as a whole do seem to be less tolerant socially (more tolerant economically), that is part of the group philosophy, and thus bigotry occuring at higher rates does not surprise me since bogotry/prejudice is a social thing (you re pre judging someone based on what you think you know about their group associations - political party, age, hair color), even if I ususally agree with this group. This grouping of "conservatives" is just a fleeting alliance in history, it will morph and change just like all other groups. They are only 1/2 conservative anyway and want to be associated with freedom, not very conservative. Just words.

In economic bigotry or prejudice, this would then be more likely to occur within the "liberal" group. Economic bigotry is the taking of one person's property because you feel it has a better use elsewhere in society.

I do recognize that both types of prejudice occur in both groups and that the groups are not well defined most days.

This thread results in prejudice, even if it was not intended to, simply because it groups people. Grouping is one of the tools we use to survive without having to fully process information before we make decisions...bla, bla, bla...the OP knew exactly what she was doing. Not trying to pit people against each other....specifically....but letting the posters make her point or expand on it.

Sounds like junk science to me. No doubt there are some low IQ people who gravitate to authoritarian politics who are inclined to racism. And also no doubt there are some high IQ people who gravitate to authoritarian politics who are inclined to racism. And some people - high and low IQ - who don't give a hoot about politics who are inclined to racism. And about a million more combinations of IQ, politics, and racism. So what. I don't see what this demonstrates other than the obvious.
