I don't even know what to think about this. How can anyone deny the existance of the holocaust in this day and age? Really?

A congressional candidate running as a Republican in the upcoming Illinois primary says the “Holocaust never happened.”

Arthur Jones, 64, a Lyons, IL, insurance salesman who organizes family-friendly, neo-Nazi events around Adolf Hitler’s birthday, hopes to be the Republican candidate chosen to run against Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District.

“As far as I’m concerned, the Holocaust is nothing more than an international extortion racket by the Jews,”

And yes, I would feel the same way, and would have posted it, if this dude was a Democrat.......

The same way that some people think we can keep borrowing and spending trillions of dollars we don't have and not face a terrible crisis.

The same way that some people think you can build a 7 billion dollar pipeline and not create any jobs.

All you have to do is ignore reality - bury you're head in the sand and convince yourself that what you dream up or make up (or what you hope is the reality) in you're head is the actual reality.

That's how.

I don't think your two examples in any way rates with Holocaust denial... and this "gentleman" is sympathetic to the neo-nazi movement. I think you are missing the whole point in an effort to make a partisan retort.

Was that non-partisan enough for ya?

I thought my response was spot on- in my two examples- and the original question posed by the poster- all three conveniently ignore truth. All three deny the reality.

But you're below room temprature I.Q. missed the point.

I guess.

Just because he is running as a Republican doesn't make him a representative of the GOP.

Did Sen Robert Byrd(D) being a KKK Wizard reflect most Democrats?

I disagree.....denying another's ideas, or opinions is pretty easy, there is nothing to back up the idea or opinion, but the holocaust is well documented with pictures and and experiences of those who survived and those troops that saw it first hand after WWII. Denying that Keystone will create jobs is not a big leap of faith since there is equal information out there that says it won't as there is that says it will. Same with borrowing and spending, in fact history tells us that borrowing and spending will improved the economy, and the idea that it won't, or will create a terrible crisis, is still speculation. I believe it to be true, that the future depends on us cutting spending and borrowing less (and raising revenues) but there is much evidence that points to just the opposite. So your examples really don't hold water. Care to try again?

I was careful not to say he was a reflection of the GOP.......I don't think he is. Though there is a difference I think between denying the holocaust, that is a well documented event, and holding racist views. The question was how someone could deny the holocaust when so much documentation is available? I really can't fathom it.....and I wonder why anyone would vote for such a crackpot......right/left/or otherwise.

Actually personally I find the Holocaust so horrible that it does seem easy to dismiss the numbers. The Nazi's actually were able to round up and kill over 12 million people including 6 million Jews? That would be like emptying out Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, the Dakotas, etc. And no one stopped them. Stalin and Mao were able to kill tens of millions more. The numbers just boggle the mind.

Holocaust deniers? I have to put them in the same group as the flat earth society. Secretly I think they do know the Holocaust happened. Holocaust denial is pretty popular in Islamic countries too.
