Here's how you can tell if i'm liying..If I say "I swear on my kids lives" then i'm telling the truth..I'd never say that if I was lying..And I swear on my kids lives its true..My brother got his first flying job it was with a small airline in St Barts called The French Connection then he decided to marry this girl, she said ok but she was gonna stay home in Chicago when he went down there? When she said that at the dinner table my wife said "Id follow [my name here] to Antartica if he got a job there"..I pulled my brother aside and said "don't marry her, DO NOT MARRY HER" right then and there..Who would'nt want to live in St Barts?

Well I was right, she was a loser and the bad baby was living proof of that

I have to agree. My ex has a nephew who is severly autistic and when he comes to visit once in a great while one of our kids will say the r*tard word and my ex gets extremely upset - rightly so. I try to remind them to choose a more appropriate word, but they are still kids and sometimes they forget. :(

Back on topic, this was a good article explaining ways to handle a 1099-C
Sounds like you can still get out of paying under several circumstances, like bankruptcy and insolvency. So just get a good tax person to help out and avoid the "Tax Man" like in the Beatles song. LOL

If you had kids you wouldn't be so self centered

That applies even more to those of us that are teaching our children to be financially responsible rather than shirking debts.

You know if you don't play the angles in life youre a sap...And I don't think the banks that gave an 18 year old college student 70k in credit were being financially responsible either...Sure she has made over a million dollars modeling but she is just a kid.

And the banks are playing all the angles VL. They have none other than the US federal government guaranteeing them that they will get the money they loaned out back if your 18 year old college student doesn't willingly pay back that money. They really don't care whether it is your daughter or the federal government that gives them the money, but you can bet your last shiny Roosevelt fiat dime that they will get that money back from someone.

Correction - they didn't get it back from her. That doesn't mean that the bank didn't get it back from the entity who guaranteed them that she would pay it back at the time it was loaned.
