Better pony up some more donations everybody. VL, send them another pizza! :)
Maybe they should look for jobs!

The report on the group's General Assembly website says at "the current rate of expenditure" the occupiers will be "out of money in THREE WEEKS."

I seem to remember that OWS was a stonger movement when they were run on passion in the first few weeks, no money.

But now let's perpetuate the myth or perhaps make it reality by saying it over and over...."the only way to get any traction in politics, govt or social movements is with money, because well, that's all the people really care about"

If running low on money effects the movement, there was no real movement to begin with. Now when people are passionate enough that they are willing to press forward regardless of money, well then now you will have a movement.

In the end OWS, like the Tea Party, is nothing more than an political push by people that recognize that there is no way to dethrone our two party system or really even influence it much anymore. Though I will admit that both of these groups are 1000x more effective than our debates on here. But look at what gets lots of posts, Rush, but I guess since we are all just subjects of the new order, talking about issues we have no influence on will only get us down, make us want to start another fruitless movement, so perhaps Rush is the best topic to post on.

Don't send them money, that won't make a difference, they cannot get enough money to buy a vote. If you believe in what they believe in (I generally don't), get off your ass, take some risk and go occupy something, sending money is the wimps way out, go there with your money and spend it while protesting. Or if you really really believe in what they chant, quit your job if you work for a large firm (say more than 5 employees) and show the man who's boss....

By the way the most effective way to help the occupy movement is to listen to it and change your purchasing habits, bank with your shoebox at home or small banks/cus, buy from smaller firms, pay a few more cents for local or us made products, etc. This will have more of an effect on the us and the movement than sending them pizza money. If you spend in such a way that the jobs come back, the issues is solved...especially since the economy is not in the shape it is in because of govt, it is in the shape it is in because the consumers of the US traded discounts in the 1970s=1990s for the entire next century and decided the best way to employ freedom loving hippies was to megainflate the govt and give them jobs specifially designed to limit freedom (and they do it well).

By the way, does anyone have any suggestions on a good Point of Sale software system, I have had it with Quickbooks.

I'd like to know if OWSrs would have prefered to see the banks file for bankruptcy or get bailed out like they did. I think that would be a tough question for them to answer honestly.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Yes- The tea party still has money because they actually work and produce somthing.

I'm sure even the liberals who have been buying the OWS their pizza and supplying the couches to sleep on are growing tired of supporting these freeloaders by now.

Yep- they were bound to run out of "other people's money".

Ah, yes, another pleasant fantasy, that if you repeat if often enough, the rest of the teabaggers will continue to believe it.

The goal of the OWS movement is a better world via a massive increase in the size of govt and govt power.

I hate to break it to anyone who likes talking about them.....they won before they started, at least on the big gov part. The existing govt is in full support of the movement conceptually, even the R's, which are also for big big govt, though in their case it is very important to "call" it small govt. Look at all the solutions to gay marriage and both sides looking to the govt to influence rights, when really the solution is to take govt out of marrage and leave it to the couple, that is the small govt soln, but neither side is going for it, they both go and worship govt.

There are very few people that are really not in support of larger govt and even fewer doing anything about it, and even fewer willing to do a cost benefit analysis and even fewer willing to read such analysis and only 3 willing to understand it.
