Did the Dems make Code Pink mad again? Or was it the Earth Firsters running amok again. I know - had to be a union guy upset that they weren't getting a job building a pipe line, that sounds just like something that Hoffa's goons would do.
Funny thing about that - most assassins are either left wing zealots, crazy - or both. I am pressed to think of a single assassin of a politician in this union who failed to fit that description. Can you think of one LJ?
...or perhaps all these rumors of people being watched left and right are like security cameras with no internal parts.
It is well known that people will follow the rules better when they think they are being watched, you don't actually have to watch them.
I am sure folks that don't need to be watched are being watched, but prolly mostly people that have set off some sort of flag.
This is not the issue, the issue is what is legal and what should be legal. I have brought this up before....somehow we now think a cell phone is different than a land line or that an email is different than a snail mail.....these things are considered so different that the traditional citizen protections have been given up with the new technology. That literally the part you cannot see (how the info is transmitted) changes your rights, we have all accepted this, and here some have even argued for it.
It's kind of like we used to think people tended to take advantage of people, like govt spying on citz, so we made laws against searches and phone tapping and reading others' mail.....but then we evolved and got new technology, so now all of a sudden people in power are to be trusted blindly and the checks and balances we used to use are somehow no longer needed.
I think all we need is some consistency and to remember that people in power still need checks and balances.....or we could continue this theme of blindly trusting those in power and get rid of congress and the court systems....
Keeping people honest is a good thing. Employees, employers, govts, criminals, dogs, etc. Depsite this, I bet there is a lot more of people talking about their govt spying on them vs. innocents actually being spied on. Is your data being logged, well yes, same issues, but watched, IDK.
Oh and after you round up LJ woman, go after that GOPtwin guy.
Oh wait, once you get them, there is a top priority poster to get, it just keeps going.
Ahhhhh.
And I do not think the forums they are refering to are here. I bet there are people talking about some bad stuff, we all sit around and talk about how we want things to change. We don't have any actual good ideas, and mostly we talk about concepts.
The most extreme it gets around here are some hard core people that have proclaimed that they will use thier right to kill someone who comes in their home without permission, including LEO.
I fugure those that posted this are on the top of the 285 watch list, if it even exists. It was likely way simpler than that, these folks have been ID'd and the local sheriff and state police know who they are and where they live. If they go to that house, they will use more caution and follow proceedure or only show up as a swat team for their protection.

Not exactly sure how pulling signals out of the sky is the same as tapping into a shielded hard circuit PE. When you broadcast something through the air you open the possibility that anyone, not just the government, will be able to intercept it. The Russians can listen in without a warrant, so can the Israelis - that is what happens when you broadcast something. The fish that is your phone conversation or your email can end up in anyone's net. When they are casting a line intending to hook a specific fish, that sharply reduces the number of shades of gray IMNTBHO. Casting out a broad net and seeing what it catches in one area of the ocean of radio signals is not the same as tapping into one specific phone line or opening mail that comes from one specific address.
Regardless of the election outcome I think citizens have a very tough time ahead of them. Both parties are controlled by corporate interests that care now a whit about personal liberties or people in general.
