New book out right now, but I think it oversteps. Liberals will always appeal to a significant number of Americans, in fact, in some states, Republicans have been reduced to a novelty act, like California.
I don't want to get spanked too hard for getting "off topic", but if you follow the newspapers and talk shows in CA you will find that the wheels are very much coming off the wagon that is the socialist experiment in CA. The state is in very deep do-do financially ($16 billion debt) and is led by a governor who should have tapped out about 20 years ago. If they don't get voters to approve tax increases in the November election it is going to get very, very interesting.
I see Calfornia's woes as a reflection of what was happening in Wisconsin before Governor Walker came along and find Walker's stand to be refreshing after watching the circus clown that is Governor Brown. Talk about a tale of two leaders.
