Can the supporters of that document also then be called a bigot as well, since that document is used as a basis for intolerance for others?PrintSmith wrote: A bigot's a bigot Dog - regardless of their political ideology and SFB is someone who revels in their bigotry. I, for one, am glad that people would have additional options to read with being able to download other content through the Kindle, rather than being stuck with only the one book (although, who really sits down and reads what the hotel provides? I only read the room service menu if I have to because I bring my own books and tour guides). The move is an attempt to pay tribute to Newcastle's history as one of the largest print centers in Britain, according to Mashable.
"We wanted to reflect this literary history in a very contemporary way so we are offering guests the use of cutting-edge Kindles pre-loaded with The Bible, instead of the more traditional hardcopy Gideon&'s Bible that they would expect to find in a hotel," hotel general manager Adam Munday told The Telegraph.
I don't do organized religion, but I don't get all worked up over what's written in any one book. To each their own, as long as they don't harm others.Don't even think of trying to stow one in your suitcase when you leave. The cost of any missing or damaged Kindles will be billed to a guest's room.

So kind of you to act as the sheriff of the forum. I am sure management does appreciate it. The poster's views on abortion are well known and well documented. The bible has been used many times as a reference point for condemning those who support the right to choose, as well as promoting intolerance for those who support that right. The bible has also been used to condemn and promote intolerance for others who support a more liberal viewpoint on many issues. So yes, it has been used by many as a tool for promoting intolerance and condemnation of others, which as you must acknowledge is bigotry.PrintSmith wrote:

If you haven't already, you are likely going to be getting something from the site's administrators about revealing personal information about other members - or perhaps not given the shared ideology between you and the member you reference. Perhaps said member only jets their knickers in a knot when someone whose ideology differs from theirs references the same issue that you have.
Regardless - the portrayal of both the tome and those who subscribe to its teachings are false - no surprise there. Leviticus says it is the action of the person which is offensive, not the person, same for the teachings contained in the catechism of the faith which you reference. Now certainly there are those in the lunatic fringe who self identify with a group that preach otherwise, but neither you nor I will allow the lunatic fringe to be the standard by which the majority are defined - will we?
