that remark displays the typical ignorance of conservatives. The taxpayers do not fund the USPS. The only federal advantages that the USPS receives is not paying federal taxes and being able to borrow money at discounted rate. In return, the people of the united states get the ability to mail documents at a ridiculously low rate compared to private competition ($.50 compared to $15) with home delivery almost anywhere in the US.

Great post, Dog, but unfortunately it will most likely fall on deaf ears - reality gets in the way of propaganda when folks don't want to know the truth.

I would have tremendous respect for any individuals who may do the real research and admit their mistake...not gonna hold my breath though...the ignorant tend to be quite stubborn.

The USPS is billions in the red... who do you think will fill that void?

Being able to borrow money at discounted rates is huge.

And I am all for the USPS to increase mail rates, the US is very cheap compared to the rest of the world, especially I would love to see the junk mail crew pay more.

I agree, they should raise rates high enough to break even. Then they will lose more customers to electronic billing and private business that can do the job more efficiently at a lower price.

We have a collection of very superior, elite, highly educated progressives on this forum with a phD in "wordly knowledge". Us dumb hillbilly redneck rebubs are just too dang ignorant and uninformed to discuss serious issues on their elevated level.
