The gas they sell is the same, from one company to the next, the only difference is in the additives. In any given state all the gas comes from the same refinery and through the same pipeline, what each company adds to it may make it different, but probably not better. But hey, if you can find a way to make cheaper gas into something bad, and then blame it on Obama, have at it.
Additives. the Key word here.
And who blamed Obama? Jeez he could pump gas if he wanted, NOT skilled enough.
PS having raced for over 30 years and having a majority of top mechanics at my dispose along with a long line of oil related friends, all GAS ain't the same.
The same refinery may make it but different formulas. Some brewers like Sam Adams will just contract with local brewers to mix up a batch with their recipe.

and how do they separate them in the pipeline? I couldn't find anything that supported that claim.
Chevron is supposed to be the best, and is what automakers reportedly use for EPA testing. I always like Shell too since I worked at one. Conoco gas just stinks and smells bad IMO.
I think the additives are added to the tanker truck just before delivery.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
Sometimes. Ocean tankers bringing in refined fuel add their own additives just before entering port. I worked on several in the gulf for AAmaco, Sun oil etc. this was a common practice.
Conoco is refined stateside.

Ironically, my company makes a pipeline interface sonic wave detector that will tell you whose petrol is flowing through the line. Want to buy one? (In before thread move.)
