Why Mitt Romney is losing

Romney continues to make gains in Colorado, tied 50-50. Must be our above average intellect. And tradition of self reliance instead of love of the nanny state like New York.

Can't wait to see the state wide polls after the VP pick.

Think Obama wishes he could pick a vibrant young Democrat to revitalize his campaign?

I'm thinkinng Biden will be fitted with a ball gag and stuffed into a closet until the election is over.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Is there such thing as a vibrant young democrat? They had some new ones earlier, but I haven't seen any vibrant ones step out on any issues lately.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

I thought Romney was up by 5 just a week or so ago, so how is 50-50 a gain?

Well, the state polls after the VP pick (8/13-8/14) show Obama up by 3. Obama 49% Romney 46%

When you correct for the liberal bias- Romney is ahead by 6%!

When it comes to polls- I believe that we are being lied to in a profound way. Of course there is evidence to support my claim- but I think the pollsters go even further today than they did back 30 years ago to make their guy look good.

Mitt Romney's strategists say history is on their side, at least in one sense.

They say Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is ahead of where challenger Ronald Reagan was against President Jimmy Carter in June 1980, a campaign Reagan eventually won handily. That June, Carter had 39 percent support, Reagan 32, and independent John Anderson 21, according to the Gallup Poll. Reagan went on to defeat Carter in the November election, 51 to 41, with Anderson at 7.

I see a major shift has happened since 2009- all those people who were "all a flutter" for Obama back in 2008, have changed their minds. I could easily see that no republican was going to win in 2008- there was a "Bush hate fest" that could not be overcome.

Now I see that same kinda thing happening now- except the tables have turned. Don't be fooled by the MSM- Obama is their guy and they will continue to make him look good in the polls, even though the truth is quite different.

A recent analysis by University of Virginia political scientist Larry Sabato buttresses the point.

"Remember that this [Reagan-Carter] race appeared close until the very end, with some polling even indicating that Carter might actually win just a few days before the election," Sabato says. "But Reagan proved his mettle in a late debate, and Carter's attempt to negotiate freedom for the American hostages in Iran failed. Those late developments helped turn a close election into a blowout."

:rofl

Which takes us back to the national FOX poll that showed Obama ahead by 9 points, correcting for the conservative bias Obama leads by 15 points.

Personally I don't put a lot of stock in polls, I look for trends in the data, not the raw numbers. But stating a poll that shows Obama ahead can make the conservatives here apoplectic.
