So far 17-12 in favor of Romney on our poll. I think he has been winning all along.

Thus, Obama is statistically favored right now.

Since it seems like such a clear divide around here. It would be cool put a bet on it if it is legal. Something like the supporters of the loosing person have to clean litter on 285 for one hour a month for year. Anyone really confident in their candidate enough to risk some Saturday afternoons?

Do you really think the sample here represents the US as a whole? I've always thought the Courthouse and Ring were weighted conservative, it's nice to see that confirmed. I don't think the foothills are even representative of Colorado.

Park and Jefferson Counties are predominately conservative. The poll and this forum reflects that.

They say Jefferson County is a bellwether for the whole state. I don't know if that is true- but that's what the talking heads say on the Sunday talk shows on TV.

Since so many lefties have been moving into Jeffco in the last 10 years- it could be true. There are areas of Jeffco that have built out high density condo's and Richland home type "postage stamp houses" clustered 6 feet apart in places like Lakewood and Golden and Arvada.

Those types of communities tend to be occupied by more liberals- city slicker types- who move here from New Jersey and California, while the foothills tend to be more conservative as a whole. Although I have noticed many of the high density condo's and houses in North Evergreen & Bergen Park are attracting more east coast / west coast liberals as well.

But those of us who have been around a while tend to be more conservative/independant.

30 years ago- you couldn't pass a tax increase in Jeffco to save your life- now even if one life is saved- it was worth it. Especially if it was "for the children".
