So, the complete funding and authority over the military by the government does not make them government employees? Then we should never hear any bitching about the President and the military ever again.

What the Chief said! :yeahthat:

US DoD Enlisted and Commissioned personnel have very limited choices, when lawful orders are issued they either execute those orders as issued or suffer the consequences of not carrying out those lawful orders, the penalties can include an Article 15 written reprimand, non-judicial punishment, and/or a court martial.

Today as a private citizen I can give Barry the international hand sign for the number one and get away with it because the Constitution still guarantees me freedom of speech. Who knows what four more years of Barry would bring us, I hope that Americans are collectively smart enough to not want to find out.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

this makes no sense, the US government provides the funding just like they do for thousands of programs. And some where you get the idea we cannot complain about the President and the military. WRONG

Who owns the ships? The subs? The bases? The ammo? The guns? The tanks? The planes?

Who makes the decisions on where and when the military goes and does?

If you don't think that the military are government employees, then you shouldn't be bitching about what the President does or doesn't do for the military, because by your logic, the President isn't the commander in chief and the boss of the military. But don't worry, you can complain all you want because the military are government employees.

Ya know I really try hard to do this in a more calmly manner but since you what to go there, You go find something that says we are government employees or shut the hell up about it. I already also said that "BY LAW, THE PRESIDENT IS THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES." I also said maybe it is just terminology. So you want to be an ass about it bring it on, I will show you want that is all about.

The president commands the military as long as he does so according to the constitution. If he steps out of bounds and orders the military to do something contrary to the constitution the military is sworn to uphold the constitution - not the president's illegal orders.

I wouldn't call the military 'government employees'. They are a special class - they are 'government defenders'.

The military owns the stuff. In the end, they answer to those upholding the constitution. So far, that's been the president and congress.

"Answer to" is not the same thing as "gets paid by"... The various Departments of the Navy, Army, etc., are government agencies. Their budgets are decided by Congress, the money flows from the US Treasury to the Departments, and from the Departments to its employees... They ARE "government employees." Their budgets come out of my taxes... (And I wish less of my money went to them...)
