No I think you are racist because you using race rather than issues. You think republicans go out and recruit white people? It has nothing to do with this just like Obama being African american has nothing to do with this either and you are encouraging racism by even suggesting such a thing.

No I don't think the Republican Party goes out and recruits white people. I think the modern-day party appeals mainly to white people, as evidenced by the ratio of white Republicans to minority Republicans.

Not only are you accusing me of being a racist by mentioning this fact, but now you say I am "encouraging" racism.

I give up.

IMO this is part of the desperation that will change the dem party for a generation. There is no better way to win the hearts and minds of voters than calling them racists.

"The race canard"..........................................................................

Like I said before, pointing out that there is cross burning in your black neighbor's yard doesn't make you a racist... Burning the cross does....

Okay, I am going to tell you something from a personal level on my end. I have a close family member that has been living off the government her whole life. Many many years. She was the first person in CO (I am sure) that got a MM card they deliver it to her door. She has people from the government cleaning her house, they pay her rent, she gets food and money and items from churches, gets food stamps and takes vacations and lives the high life. She has not worked in 30 years. SHE IS AN EXTREME CASE. I totally get that. However, I am the complete opposite of her. If I cannot work, volunteer or learn I go crazy. I would live in the street rather than live the way she does.

I believe in work and giving in rather than taking out. If I can. I do believe in taking care of our sick and elderly. I do believe that is what these entitlements were meant for. I do not believe in feeling sorry for the poor and feeding them rather than helping them feel the good feelings of being productive and living a life of knowing they added something everyday to this country. Do not get me wrong I know that there is an element of not having a choice and I feel for single mothers, etc. and think we all should do all we can to help them. However society has changed and I don't want to see us continually work towards a non working, the government will take care of it" society. But I do want the best for people and do not want to seem them suffer or starve. I think that our young people are trying to by pass working hard now too. You should have heard the friends of my kids saying they would not work in a fast food restaurant thinking it was beneath them. Society is coddling our kids as well and they are not better off for it. Now, I am not going to apologize for believing that and I do not think the democrats line up with that kind of thinking. You hear these criticism about women not being rep and angry MEN? (the title of this thread) I have been a registered republican since 1984 honey. I am a woman. Financially is pretty much all I vote by. And I do not see any motivation to work since Obama doubled the life of unemployment.

I lived with a black family back when I was a teen for something like 6 months. We never ever thought bad of each other and we all learned alot from each other and our different cultures. You know what else? My son went to a very rigorous eduacational program. International baccalaureate program and was by far the minority of all his classmates. He watched all his friends get fantastic scholarships he did not get nearly the money they did and it was because he was a white male. My son who fought through a brain tumor and it's side effects and still went to college and has tons of loans in a crappy ecomomy. It was based on race not on his hard work. SO you want to talk racism? MY son was trying to figure out why all his friends got double or even quadruple what he did and he had way better grades. What did he do? He did not complain, hHe went to DU paid more and got a double major in 3 1/2 years anyway. And volunteers to help other low income bright people make it through high school and go on to college. My immediate family works hard and I believe in that. That is why I am a conservative.

I believe what I believe and I wish we had more color. I would not say I line up with all republican ideals and would guess you dems don't with the democratic side either. But that color thing is not evidence of anything and I am sorry but I resented the implication. I think Condoleeza Rice is an amazing woman and I believe you guys did her a disservice as well. Raees, I realize you were trying to be funny.

I want to see the economy move. If Obama had done that I would look at voting for him. But not going to apologize for being white. That has nothing to do with any of this.

I dated a beautiful black girl when I lived in Kansas City in the mid-70s. People avoided us in public.

We went to a movie, sat down and people around us actually got up and moved after they realized we were there as a couple. In some restaurants, we were told they were full, even though there were empty tables.

I get what you are saying. That's why I'm sensitive to that sort of thing.

Yeah, people avoided me too. My kids had a part time baby sitter that was african american 20 years ago. They still talk about her. I took her son and my son to the circus. We were stared at too. i don't know why. But that is not evidence of anything. Miss Sheila, told me terrible stories of racism people yelling in cars while they walked down the street it was horrible. And she had to try and explain this to her kids. She was a hard ass though and never felt sorry for them. LOL. She was a big time hard ass on my kids. One time I came to pick them up and she had shown them the movie Malcolm x. LOL

I understand the sensitivity. I hate it when racists exploit the republican party.

I had a very, very racist grandfather and uncle. My uncle was from the south. My grandfather didn't want to hurt anyone he just believed in segregation.

It's all good. I just had to let you know (and you know) I am not like that I really believe in freedom. For me it has nothing to do with race. I am not racist.

Yeah, what CG said, and Raees, I can imagine that in the 70's...but that isn't true for the vast majority of Americans anymore (of either party). I had friends who dated other races, and parents didn't approve in the 70s and 80s. Had nothing to do with democrat/republican, people were more racist back then. That has changed.

Minorities are starting to realize that they have been voting democrat, and their families have for years and years, and their situation as a community hasn't improved. If anything, it has gotten worse. They are stuck in this legacy of dependent thinking....but that is changing.

They want to change their legacy, maybe not for themselves, but for their kids, just like every parent wants for their kids. They are starting to see that the conservative way of thinking will get them out of this permanent dependence on govt, and they are seeing people do it. Rubio, Col. West, Rice, Love, etc show them they can succeed, and not be stuck there.

Look at the support of vouchers for minorities...it is very high, because they realize that poor schools their kids are stuck in will virtually guarantee their kids failure. (see Waiting for Superman).

The democrat model has failed minorities. I'm of the belief that the natural assumption democrats have made that all minorities will vote for them is changing...and I for one welcome it. Loved Rubio's speech by the way.....

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
