I am an employee but I also own enough shares in my employer that it is a significant part of my assets. Libertarian.

I have been both, as I suspect others here have been. Does that somehow make our opinion invalid?

Now retired, and enjoying it. Have been there, done that, got the t-shirts. No yachts, but have earned what I have, as planned for. Have helped others on the way, and have been helped by others.

That is the way I think it should be.

As with Jf1, I think many business owners have also been employees......for some, starting a business comes after you have gained the knowledge and expertise to not only know what kind of business you would do well at but also to know how to keep that business afloat.
I know many who ran their own business for years....we all know the demands that makes on our time and our families...and at some point being an employee looked like an option to keep working and to have more time with family.

I don't think any of this really relates to political party......there are people in both parties who work hard and do well....and those who can never seem to get ahead for what ever reason. Trying to link success to political affiliation trivializes what it takes to make a good life for yourself and your family, and places blame when none is deserved.

Too much generalization. Many so called 'public' employees have much more than earned their pay. And also some have been leeches.
