There is most certainly a mandate for higher taxes than we currently have...but it did not come from this election.

The mandate comes in the form of spending the money over the last 50+ years....you know, mom and dad's elections, they mandated it for us just like we are doing 10x over for your kids (we must really hate them).

The unemployment rate has fallen below 8 percent, the housing industry is showing signs of stabilization and consumer confidence is up. But even as the economy shows signs of improving, many people in their 30s and 40s are feeling pessimistic about their ability to achieve the American dream and feel as financially secure as their parents.

:VeryScared: Backhanded compliment?

For example, rents are at record levels in the metro area! Sounds like good news unless you can't find a place to live, or it is too expensive.

Home prices have returned to the peaks of 2006 in Colorado, but is this because the banks aren't releasing enough foreclosed houses onto the market? Or not willing to sell short sale houses.

at 2.85%, Obama does not even come close to his margin in the last election, nor does he come anywhere close to some of the landslides in the past. This was a very close election and cannot be called a 'mandate' by any means. The prior election might have been, but Clinton had a bigger margin, and Reagan and Nixon both put the paltry 2.85% win this time to shame. Less people voted for Obama for his second term. That hasn't happened to any previous president since Roosevelt's fourth term.

Your graphic from MSNBC only proves that they are extremely biased in their presentation of 'facts'.

Yeah, after winning by 332 / 208 electoral, and ALL of the battleground states except one, (including Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, etc.) I can see where you would think he doesn't have a mandate...
