Hey archer this is just a discussion board, say whatever you want. Do you ask people for sources when you are sitting around talking? I guess people would need to carry around a library of books to have a discussion with you. :)

Hey LOL, no problem with people saying whatever they want, but apparently you have a problem with those who want to know if they are speaking truth, or just pulling their so called facts out of thin air. After a very long election season where lies were presented as truth, and opinions were stated as facts, yeah it's about time to ask for more than I heard....our I saw somewhere.... as verification for a statement.

No problem here, I just point out inaccuracies when I see them. For example LJ gets the 3.6% tax rate increase wrong all the time, and I politely remind her its 4.6%

I usually present links when I have them handy. Winging it is ok too when I "heard" something. LOL

It is safe to say that when a poster claims they heard something somewhere or saw a post somewhere or it was on the news, they are pulling their info out their ass.

Oh please!!!
Sometimes you can read an article and not remember the source especially if it was months ago. Some of you treat this forum much too seriously.

:woo hoo: Dog, I suppose you want to defend decades of mismanagement by Detroit's goverment?

It's almost as potent as "Some people say...."

Video evidence documenting something being pulled out of a person's ass is acceptable, but must be posted in The Ring. Make sure any stains that would make the document completely illegible or difficult to read are removed prior to posting. Thank you for your cooperation.

rofllol Sorry, trying to keep it fun and couldn't resist! I have trouble going back and finding links to old stories I read as well not thinking that I'd need to reference it later so didn't bookmark it, so I can see that. Maybe mentioning that it was a while ago, memories are faulty, link can't be found, but this what I remember so people can factor the information with the appropriate grain of salt? Just an idea rather than bugging each other for links if it's getting annoying (although the scientist in me highly approves of proper documentation and citing facts to back up one's position!).

Yes, I will have to go through a lot of chaff if I try to google, "detroit auto leases". Especially on a story this old.
