Underage Drinking In Colorado Restaurants & Bars?

Greg Brophy wants to introduce a law in the Colorado statehouse that would allow parents to buy booze for their 18 through 20 year old kids. Looks like Wisconsin has this rule already. Would you support this? I wouldn't have a problem if this would pass.

It is interesting to see the national attention this bill is getting.

You would have to add pot to the law too! :)

Seems like this would conflict with other laws on zero tolerance BAC DUI for minors? etc.

I don't see how this is a legislative priority for 2013

Smart parents wouldn't do it. Sober underage kids make excellent designated drivers so the parents can really tie one on.

On more than one occasion while boarding at Breck, I’ve talked with Europeans who found it unbelievable that they couldn't let their teenagers have wine or a beer while eating with them at local restaurants.

:skiing: BTW why isn't there a snowboarding smiley?????

I didn't see one while hunting for new holiday and seasonal emoticons, but if you find one send it along as it would be cool to add!

I would support this since I think it's a good idea to remove the "Ooooh factor" of teenagers drinking because it's something forbidden. When consumed as a glass with a meal it is good for your health and they learn that it's no big deal and to do it responsibly.

I think it would just add more problems for the bartender and owner...

I do think the Feds convinced most states to go to 21 by holding their portion of the highway budget. If this passed, would Colorado lose this spending for infrastructure?

That was the argument that got the drinking age lowered to 18 back when.
