GOP & minorities - You just can't make this up

So the House GOP decides to have a panel discussion on communicating with minorities and women (they did expand the panel from three white men to include two women and three latinos) at their strategic retreat.. Where did they decide to have this discussion on dealing with minorities, one might ask? Well, that would be in the Burwell Family Plantation room. One might ask why was the Burwell Family Plantation so honored? It turns out the Burwell Family Plantation was a well known local slave owning family. What better way to demonstrate your commitment to improve communications with minorities than to do it in the shadow of a family honored for their generations of owning slaves and known for selling family members to different plantations.

And their message for communicating to female voters:

“Rape is a four letter word — don’t say it,” the group was advised by a Republican pollster in one session, said a person familiar with the discussion. That was a reference to controversies about rape and abortion that helped lose the party two Senate seats in November.

There have been almost twice as many generations of America without slavery but Dems here continue to dwell on it. BTW Dems were slaveholders and Republicans freed the slaves.

Do you keep a data base of stock excuses for any and all possible criticisms of the GOP? I do find it amusing that you chastise something the dog said for dwelling on past history, then use past history to criticize democrats.

So the moral of the story is that history is just that, history. Even Biden and Reid have evolved from their racist comments about Obama less than a decade ago.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Oh trust me I criticize the GOP plenty. Most recently for settling with Obama instead of going over the fiscal cliff. Once again both parties continue to kick the can down the road instead of tackling the largest debt level in US history.

The only time I see you post a criticism of the GOP is when I mention that you have once again made excuses for the GOP, then suddenly you want to appear evenhanded.

OK, I can continue. The wimpy GOP trots out Paul Ryan for a photo op. He says they plan to kick the can down the road again and only raise the debt leve by two months. (The Republicans are too scared to wield the hammer of shutting down the goverment in exchange for spending freezes.)
So we will get to Deja Vu this whole debt ceiling again in March. Yippee.

And then our "only do stuff in a crisis mode" Congress will next wait until midnight to do anything about sequestration. (Blaming both sides for that.)

Maybe the Republicans are not as concerned with optics the same as Hollywood Hussian Obama.

Neither party members have the guts to actually stand for something. They are all concerned only with their own personal welfare.

Democrats, Republicans, they all suck.

Too true. Pretending that one party cares about the electorate more than the other is a joke. What they care about is getting re-elected and keeping their big donors happy.
