I think this has already passed and been signed by Gov. Cuomo before any public debate or input.

Sounds good to me, particularly since it's already passed.

Now, hopefully, it will be used as the model for other states.

(Republican) Gov. Scott Walker will not say whether or not he supports an assault rifles ban. He will convene mental health resources (I assume to ensure that mentally challenged individuals do not have access to firearms).

Legislatively - no gun control legislation has advanced in Wisconsin, and it's unlikely any legislation ever will.

Incidentally --- Illinois --- which requires a special identification card to purchase ammunition of any kind --- ranks 13th in the nation for violent crime. Meanwhile - Wisconsin - which has a very timid gun control record, ranks 32nd.

Any yet homicides continue to decrease as the sales of gun increase and millions more Americans are carrying concealed, record amounts actualy.
