Who do you know?

I'm curious. It would seem that most of the posters here are surrounded only by those with the same political/social beliefs as they. My family/ social groups include Tea Partiers, Liberals, Fundamental Christians, Gay, Straight, young, old and many minority groups. The inability to see the other side as good people with a different POV seems the root of 90% of the problems on this board.

In "real" life, the people I talk to are diverse. I have both liberal and conservative friends and many of my liberals friends are quite articulate about their views.

I too am surrounded by conservativess, and liberals, and tea partiers, and gay, straight etc. just like you....and we all get along very nicely even when we disagree. There have been heated discussions, but I don't remember ever being asked to go to another room to state a dissenting opinion.

How about if one of your conservative aquaintances called you a socialist Marxist libtard on a daily basis and others kept engaging that person, thus destroying a good conversation... would you not want to go to a more friendly room and islolate the offender?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

,
Which brings us full circle to you, and many others want a more moderated board.....some of us do not, even if it means that a lot of stuff is posted, by both sides by the way, that is not so nice. There is a price we pay for freedom of speech....in real life and on a message board. I'll try frogger's tactic....if you didn't want an unmoderated board, why did you come to 285Bound in the first place.....and stay so long? The courthouse is no worse now than it was 2 years ago, actually I think it's a lot better.....

Fact is.....285bound has always been somewhat moderated. Like it or not archer.....that is a fact.

For those who are interested in the facts......

<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href=" www.285bound.com/285forum/viewforum.php?f=6&start=9175 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewforum.php?f=6&start=9175<!-- l -->

<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href=" www.285bound.com/285forum/viewforum.php?f=29&start=1150 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewforum.php?f=29&start=1150<!-- l -->

Those two links represent the very first page of the courthouse and the ring.
If you travel forward from those first two pages you will see that threads and posts have ALWAYS been moved around.
For those really interested in the facts, take some time to read some of those threads and take note of the tone and dialog. Also take note of why certain threads were moved.

Nothing has changed here at all other than SC has been busy trying to grow a place for everyone to enjoy and One aspect of the site moved in a direction that it was not intended to go.
Now...we have a correction and hopefully a more inclusive environment.
But hey....if you don't believe me.....go read for yourself.

In some threads I read posts applauding the changes....then here you are saying nothing has changed. You can say nothing has changed, but I see it and so do others, some like it, others do not........but we have lost a few posters already because of it.

Well....if you go back and read through a few pages of those threads.....we have lost far more posters because of the shift in direction.
The only change happening here is one of moving back to roots and intent.
Nice try though archer.
