Chris Kyle, Author Of 'American Sniper,' Shot And Killed At Gun Range
Chris Kyle, an ex-Navy SEAL who wrote the bestelling book American Sniper about his service in Iraq, was shot and killed at a gun range in Texas, multiple outlets reported Saturday night. A second man was also killed.
According to local TV station KHOU, officials said that Kyle was shot at point-blank range "while helping another soldier who was recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome" at a range near the town of Glen Rose.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Lancaster, Texas, police arrested a suspect, 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, after a brief chase.
It doesn't say that the guy with PTSD that he was helping was the one who killed him...It says some other 25-yr-old guy killed him. So, I would think at a gun range there would be lots of guys with guns. If "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a GOOD guy with a gun", then where was a "good guy with a gun" to stop it?
(Footnote: As of yesterday, there was a total 1,280 people killed with guns...SINCE the Newtown massacre... Comforting to know so many people have their "Second Amendment rights"...)
Humans kill each other. Sad, but true. We did it before we invented guns. We will continue to do it even if we ban them. A woman with a gun at least has a chance against a male attacker. Arguably, guns have advanced women's rights. Take them away and you make women more vulnerable. Gun bans will not save lives. Sensible regulations may save some, but I can think of none that would prevent events like this. So tell me, are you advocating a total ban for civilians?
I never said that. I asked you a different question that YOU chose to deflect. My bad, I forgot that you are more interested in fighting than discussing. Never mind.

What do you mean "you never said that.." You just did:

So, since "humans kill humans", I guess they're supposed to tell Ms. Kyle and her two children, "Gee, tough luck... I guess today just wasn't your day..." ?
I realize that some are only interested in "searching" for info that meets their needs so I will help out.
Anyone who attempts to seek "current" info can find this.
Investigators said the assailant fled the scene in Kyle's vehicle, which had the emblem of his business, Craft International, displayed on the back window. The company provides military and law enforcement training.
The three men reportedly went to Rough Creek Lodge together before Routh, also a military veteran who sources say suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), turned his weapon on Kyle and Littlefield.
Kyle and Littlefield had taken Routh to the range, said Travis Cox, the director of a nonprofit Kyle helped found. Littlefield was Kyle's neighbor and "workout buddy," Cox told The Associated Press on Sunday morning.
"What I know is Chris and a gentleman - great guy, I knew him well, Chad Littlefield - took a veteran out shooting who was struggling with PTSD to try to assist him, try to help him, try to, you know, give him a helping hand and he turned the gun on both of them, killing them," Cox said.
Police said Routh opened fire on Kyle and Littlefield around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and then fled in a Ford pickup truck, which Bryant said was Kyle's truck. At about 8 p.m., Routh arrived at his home in Lancaster, about 17 miles southeast of Dallas. Police arrested him after a brief pursuit and took him to the Lancaster Police Department.
