Why are the righties on this site so thin skinned?

I.....for one have often called conservatives as well as liberals for their bad behavior. Your selective memory is showing.

Chances are if you ascribe an entire group with same opinions and motivations, you are not adding to the discussion but trying to start a fight. There are folks of all political persuasions here that are guilty of this sometimes, but only a few who do it with every post. A couple of us on the right try to call out the offenders on our side, I see no one on the left remonstrating when "your" side does it. Are you really completely blind to it?

Sorry, but the obsession of some posters on the right, with one poster on the left, really gets old. Why would I, or anyone else on the left, need to say anything when so many on the right personally attack that poster day in and day out, over and over and over and over and over again.....The most egregious of the hateful posters on the right have never, that I can recall, been called out by their own side.....yet you hold the lefties here to a different standard. Are you completely blind to what has been posted by those on the conservative side since this board began?

I have often called out those I find hateful, and been attacked in return for it. Most of those have left, or at least rarely post any more. I have tried, more than once, to have a civil conversation with the poster in question. They refuse to engage on an individual level, insist on painting all conservatives with the same brush and respond with quips and insults. Every. Single. Time. I mean seriously, it gets tiring. I'd like to see the human behind the mask of hate, but it never slips. If every conservative is so vile, why even bother with discussion?

This anger is a mindset that many of us will never understand. I dedicate one day a week to listening to am 760 talk radio. The folks on the left know what that is. The rage and anger coming from the talking heads is stunning. Try listening sometime. It is will explain much here.

I have to say, I see the same attitude on the right. My conservative friends make nasty comments about liberals all the time and are offended when I am not amused or in agreement with them. I know and love many liberals. They are good people. They are not lazy, they do not want to spend other peoples money, they do not hate America. We all want our country to be the best it can be. Demonizing everyone we disagree with is small minded. Finding common ground is how this country has become great. That isn't a tradition I'm willi g to abandon because it is hard. Most things worth doing are hard.

I agree but there are a handful of folks on each side that will never let that happen.
I don't lump people together. My opinion of an individual is based on my own personal interaction.
I am no fence sitter though.
There are times when principles are more important than "common" ground.
One must also choose their battles carefully.
