Why are the righties on this site so thin skinned?

This anger is a mindset that many of us will never understand. I dedicate one day a week to listening to am 760 talk radio. The folks on the left know what that is. The rage and anger coming from the talking heads is stunning. Try listening sometime. It is will explain much here.

Have you never listened to Rush Limbaugh? The rage and anger coming from him is stunning.

And there ya have it........frogger, this is what I am talking about. You can see clearly the vitriol coming from the left....but apparently don't recognize it in those who you agree with. It's pretty universal....it's not some strange phenomenon that only happens here....all I ask is that we not pretend that our own side is full of a bunch of angels and the other side is the devil incarnate....it just isn't that way.

I find it very hard to have a civil conversation with people who say hi....how ya doin...and by the way I hate "so-and-so" don't you? If I don't play that game then I get accused of not hating so-and-so therefore there is something wrong with me. Sheesh....it's a lose/lose proposition.

My conservative friends make nasty comments about liberals all the time and are offended when I am not amused or in agreement with them. I know and love many liberals. They are good people. They are not lazy, they do not want to spend other peoples money, they do not hate America. We all want our country to be the best it can be. Demonizing everyone we disagree with is small minded. Finding common ground is how this country has become great. That isn't a tradition I'm willi g to abandon because it is hard. Most things worth doing are hard.

There is nothing your post that I disagree with.
So where is the problem?

So archer.....do you assume that I listen to Rush or support him.
Personally.....I enjoy people like Hugh Hewitt but of course......you might find him angry also. I suspect you would find fault with any person on the right whom a handful of you have designated as biased or radical on the right.
I suspect that Fred no longer provides sources because 3 or 4 of you have decided to impeach all his sources.
If you post an opinion or a fact here......I actually don't mind doing my own due diligence to source your post or seek an alternate point of view. I actually enjoying researching the information and seeking facts from both sides of the issue so that I can create my OWN balanced point of view. WHAT A CONCEPT.
It is merely my "opinion" but I find you to be one of the largest offenders of lumping large groups of people into one tidy little box. (Remember....I said that was merely my opinion)

no, I don't.....and if you read what I posted I didn't say that did I.

where did you get that idea? I don't impeach sources, I simply ask for them when they are not provided. Why are you so intent on demonizing me for sins I have not committed?

of course it is your opinion, because if you read my posts you would know that I try very hard not to use a broad brush to paint all conservatives the same, and when I do.....I have been know to apologize for it. Good for you doing your own due diligence, as will I when I want to find the information. Unlike many of you.....I use a smart phone more than a computer, I am often on the road, and find it very difficult to do a lot of searching for information while still keeping the forum open. Pardon me for thinking that it is common courtesy to provide a source for those things you post as facts.

I'll take that as an admission that you have been attacking without real cause.....

Here is a broad brush for you.....conservatives are much nicer posters when they only talk to themselves.....

Anger sells on media. Something to pump up the audience like when you have 10 minute screaming debates on the cable news channels but after awhile it gets old.

Calling people out on their behavior rarely works, I know I've done it with anyone who's crossed the line (I'm not going to say "both sides" b/c frankly, I'm tired of splitting us along those lines) until I'm blue in the face. If you want to improve discussion, the tips are all in this thread: mymountaintown.com/forum/6-the-courthous...with-internet-trolls

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Here's an even broader brush... people are much nicer posters when they only talk to themselves....
