Just to name a few...Google: "austerity consequences" and there's hundreds more...
So, you guys already admit that the start down this slippery slope started on Bush's watch...(I'm getting tired of posting the same chart over and over again that shows reduction-of-deficit during Dem administrations, and obscene growth-of-deficit under Republican administrations. You're entitled to your own opinions, but not your own FACTS.) The myth of Republicans being the "party of austerity" is a joke, and people stopped believing in that fairy tale a loooong time ago.
This whole manufactured panic-attack about about the "debt" and the "crisis", is just that... Manufactured by right-wing radio/TV/Club-for-Growth/ad-nauseum. The big three, Medicare, Medicade & Social Security, are NOT the cause of the debt, and cutting them is not the solution.
Go sell 'crazy' somewhere else... We're all stocked up here...

Truth is Fred.....the left DID win, and maybe it's time for the losers to stop being so petulant and work on what they were hired to do, their job. But, instead they are continuing down the path that lost them the election.....the majority of the American people are not amused, and will continue to punish the GOP in the future for their bad behavior.
So you really wanted the Dems to roll over and play dead after they lost the House and Senate in "W's" administration?
In nations with a parliamentary system, the Prime Minister rules over the country and the legislature with a majority party. Think the opposistion party gives up? Not normally. Why should the Republicans not fight tooth and nail to keep this country from going over the cliff?
Seen Obama's latest baseline budget plan for the next 10 years? He plans to add from 7-10 trillion dollars to our debt. Sure, you want to sign on to that? See why the GOP is still fighting the biggest spending POTUS in American history?
You read too many right wing blogs Fred....the GOP spouts off all the time about future generations, but when the Democrats actually propose anything that would help insure their future, education, you all are oooooooh, it costs too much.......well yeah, you get what you pay for, but not investing in our children will cost us all far more in the future. You can't see beyond tomorrow.......if a family only planned for tomorrow, and not for their own and their children's future you would probably be outraged, yet that is exactly what you want government to do. Oh....and thanks for telling me once again what I want.....and once again you are wrong. I never wanted the dems to "roll over and play dead" when they lost the house, and I don't expect the GOP to do it either.....rather I expect them to get to work on the nation's business, and not spend the next 4 years doing what they did for the last 4. Their whole agenda was to make Obama a 1 term president, no matter how badly it hurt this country. We all know how well that worked out. I see the same mentality now....it lost you the presidency in 2012, and seats in the house.....it may cost you even more in 2014 and 2016......in the words of one here who seems a lot smarter than the likes of you......just keep doin what yer doin.
But you did win, so continue to burden your children and grandchildren with the costs of Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Party now and let our descendants pay for it.
I have a sister-in-law who took out loans in her kids name after she destroyed her own credit, under your analogy, she did use part of that money to feed them, but now they are looking at spending tens of thousands cleaning up their own credit records.
Obamanomics.

Bad assumption.....It is for my children and grand children's future that I fight so hard against the GOP and it's misguided, shortsighted policies.

No Obamanomics would be that she invest money in their education and in keeping them healthy, because no matter how cheaply you live, if you are uneducated and in poor health you have no future. Is that what you really want Fred? To keep the lower middle class and the poor uneducated and/or sick so they cannot be a threat to conservative and corporate control....kinda like so many conservatives don't want women to have control over their own bodies or obtain equal pay for equal work? How you can support such a party is beyond comprehension.
So you are OK that each of your children are responsible for $53,000 in goverment debt and they didn't even get to vote on the spending?
Talk about taxation without representation.
No wonder you guys don't like the Tea Party, the other time we had taxation without representation, the original Tea Party wasn't popular with the people doing the taxing either.
And you want the Republicans to just lay back and accept the new Obama order, perpetual unemployment of 7% or more, 750 billion dollars expected to be added to the debt level this next year and no budget approved by the Senate in years.

My kids have been voting for years.......and they both are liberals. One is a business owner....and a very successful one, his business has flourished under Obama and he has doubled his number of employees. The other is a paramedic married to a cop....

wrong again Fred (at least you are consistent) I don't like the Tea Party because they are more interested in controlling the social and religious agenda in this country than they are in the economy.
And you want the Republicans to just lay back and accept the new Obama order, perpetual unemployment of 7% or more, 750 billion dollars expected to be added to the debt level this next year and no budget approved by the Senate in years.

No, again....sheesh Fred, would you PLEASE stop telling others what they think or what they want......
I want the Republicans to concentrate on working WITH Democrats to solve the economic issues and stop with the concentration on side issues. If they think they can ram through their own agenda by being petulant children who can only whine because they can't get their own way, then yeah, the Democrats and Obama will do it on their own. The Republicans have no plan beyond "our way or the highway". That may have worked in the past....but it sure as hell won't work now. I am, though, amused how you applaud bad behavior in Republicans while complaining about that same behavior in Democrats.
Obama doing it on his own? Yes, America needs 4 more years of stagnant growth, high unemployment & record debt levels. Barack is just doing an outstanding job!!! And for the whiner who want to blame it on Republicans? Great Presidents get stuff done with a opposisiton party in power. Reagan worked with a Dem Congress, so was he a good statesman who was able to get his agenda passed with compromise. Or you have Obama, who accomplished very little even when the Dems had both the House and Senate, and even less.
Obama? Slept through the death of his Libyan ambassador. What a great POTUS!

Please tell me which policies you fight for which will benefit your children or grand children.
Please tell me which policies the conservatives (or I guess you said GOP...which if you mean the old guard, you might be right) have short sighted, mis-guided policies?
"investing" aka, dumping more good money after bad, in our current extremely poor education system is not good policy. We've dumped way too much in a failed system. If you supported vouchers...and enforcing a good education that way, I could agree with you. The current govt delivered school system we have is a failure. Time to try something else. I would even support vouchers only for the poor to start, just because I strongly believe our current system hurts them the most. Their parents are stuck sending them to these failing schools. The wealthy have other options. If you haven't seen "Waiting for Superman", check it out, and then let me know what you think. I want the poor to be vastly successful, because then they will realize what opportunities exist in this country, and they aren't stuck will failed democrat dependency on govt.
Regarding women and their bodies...abortion will always be debated. I don't like abortion, but I don't want to outlaw it. The question is, is there a line you would draw in the sand. Should a woman be able to abort up to the date of birth. A vast majority of the country believes partial birth abortion should be illegal, except in the case of danger to the mom...do you? On the other hand, even though I'd love to see us never have any more abortions in this country, I understand. Why we can't find a middle ground is beyond me.
Equal pay for equal work? Most of the young women I know, who have chosen to not take the family route, but work as a permanent career make equal, or even greater pay, at least in the technical fields I deal in. Can't speak for the big dogs at companies, since I don't know any.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
Abortion? While I don't like it, I think it should remain legal, please show me where abortion rights have been denied under Republicans?
Where have reproduction rights been limited under the GOP? 30 states have GOP governors, 25 states have GOP running both branches of the statehouse, but I haven't seen abortion banned in any state. I haven't seen public schools shut down and replaced with voucher systems. What else do you think we are on the edge of losing?
Birth control? Birth control fans now have more legal options than ever before, Plan B has expanded.
Maybe you have been duped by the press and the Dems into believing a few outliers define the Republican party?
It is a common political strategy, highlight someone who might have a wacky idea and declare that is the mainstream.
Same about the TEA Party, have you actually been to a meeting or a Republican caucus? Reproductive rights have never been brought up at the meetings I have attended. Or squashing equal pay for women.

Are you trying to claim that the Tea Party doesn't fully support and campaign for social conservatives like Michelle Bachman?
