i am still waiting to connect. Radio Reference shows more that 150,000 connects at the moment.
I suspect they are just slammed

I can't get the Boston feed to reconnect... try the video feed... not as immediate as listening to the first hand tactical info... but it's not dropping. These feed usually come from people who own scanners with a internet radio relay node and it's connected to their computer and then fed out to the internet.

See my comment above... these are digital trunk systems, frequently not well matched from department to department, encryption would only make communications more confusing between the various departments. Colorado has been trying to get each agency and unit tied to the same systems for decades.

Makes sense, especially with how many small town/suburbs they have around Boston.

I'm not an expert on agency communication systems or radios. I know more than the general public, but we have people on 285 Bound that could explain it better than I can... maybe they will jump in with more detailed info.
