A couple interesting twists, Eric Holder has sent the DOJ to monitor.
And this will be one of South Carolina's first elections that require photo ID.
Will that hurt Dem participation?
If the GOP's plan works, and they have their way, it will... When you can't win on ideas, just change the rules.
They don't seem to be having much luck with trying to pass rules to keep college students from voting where they attend school. That pesky SCOTUS keeps getting in the way.
South Carolina ex-governor Sanford wins U.S. House seat
(Reuters) - Republican former Governor Mark Sanford made a political comeback on Tuesday, rebounding from a sex scandal to beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch in a congressional race to represent coastal South Carolina.
With 99 percent of the results in, Sanford had 54 percent of the vote against 45 percent for Colbert Busch, who conceded the election.
Well, I think we can safely predict that Sanford will probably get assigned to the "Foreign Affairs Committee"...'Cause, god knows, if anyone knows about "foreign affairs", it's Mark Sanford...
And isn't it nice to know that there's no shortage of hiking-trails around D.C.... Perhaps he won't get lost on that "Appalachian Trail" again...

Ya, definitely worse than getting a bj in the oval office from a young intern. It is pretty funny how the bar was set so low and the Dem still lost.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Oh Darn!

Colbert-Bush has 9-10 point lead over Sanford for the congressional district.
Bachmann may be under indictment by election time for federal campaign violations, but is already behind in the polls...
...and the list continues...
And I hope they keep consulting the polls by Rasmussen, FauxNews, Karl Rove, Dick Morris, Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, and George Will, etc..... The polls will tell them exactly what they want to hear--all the way up to the point where the races are called for the actual winners.

Burn!!!! Meghan McCain was ripping on Sanford wishing we didn't have adulterous politicians. Someone responded she wouldn't have been born if politicians stayed true to their first wives.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
This election says more about the people of South Carolina than it does about Mark Sanford. As the conservatives have been so apt at pointing out to we liberals, it wasn't what Clinton did so much as the fact that he lied about it. Now really.....just how truthful was Mark Sanford when he lied to his wife and lied to his own staff, and lied to the people of SC before getting caught and finally coming clean. Looks like the republicans love their liars as much as democrats do......but I will remember this thread the next time a conservative here whines about lying Democrats......or Democrats getting caught in a scandal, or make a big deal about a liberal state re-electing someone who has been involved in a domestic scandal.
