Hickenlooper and Dems put Colorado ahead of the curve

So the thoughtful plan by Colorado Democrats, including the Honorable John Hickenlooper to reduce the reliance of power plants in Colorado on old greenhouse emitting coal and increase the reliance on renewable energy puts Colorado ahead of the plan put forth by President Obama today. Way to go!
It is past time that the taxpayers and citizens of this country quit subsidizing the coal industry and the coal powered plants that do not utilize the latest technology to reduce the emissions that are costing $50 billion annually in sickness, deaths and climate change damages.

Good show... I worked at the National Renewable Energy Lab for 15 years... and always supported it's mission.

Actually Colorado was forced to do this by Team Obama. Luckily natural gas replacing coal around the country has helped the US meet Kyoto standards because renewable solar and wind power was an expensive failure. So while the US is doing their part Russia and China has expanded their use of coal.

No actually, it wasn't... But of course you would have a SOURCE that proves differently?

If Colorado hadn't converted coal plants to natural gas the EPA had promised to come down on the state. Even today one of Team Obama's members declared there needs to be a war on coal.

Really? "War on coal" is a teabagger phrase... Perhaps you can point me to a quote, or a YouTube of "one of Team Obama's members" using the words "war on coal"?

On the other hand, if someone suggested that we should "reduce our dependence on coal for generating power", then not only do I applaud them, but I agree with them.

Surprised that Dog was unwilling to give Obama and the EPA partial credit for helping the US achieve Kyoto goals. Obama gave a speech yesterday where he wants to further clamp down on coal fired power plants. One question Dog? How much does it cost per kilowatt hour for renewable energy versus coal and natural gas? And what percentage of Colorado's daily power come from wind and sun?

NOT surprised that Fred has no sources to back up his fact-free points about "Team Obama and the EPA", and the "war on coal" that they never said.

Not saying the words "war on coal", but doesn't this mean the same thing?:

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Fine: Daniel Schrag, Obama man, Harvard University in an interview with the New York times. "Politically the White House doesn't want to say there is a war on coal, but there does need to be a war on coal." And Obama will not only be going after coal, but also natural gas power plants.
Great more Obamanomics, higher energy prices combined with flatlined wages if you are lucky enough to have a job.
