Hickenlooper and Dems put Colorado ahead of the curve

Mary Scott wrote: Bob... she's splitting hairs and you know it. And she's right... Obama or his "team" never used the words "war on coal."
She is only arguing the attribution of the phrase, not the content.

I'll repeat it again, since the attention-span here is reduced:

"War on coal" is a teabagger phrase... Perhaps you can point me to a quote, or a YouTube of "one of Team Obama's members" using the words "war on coal"?

On the other hand, if someone [i.e., Obama] suggested that we should "reduce our dependence on coal for generating power", then not only do I applaud them, but I agree with them.

"Reducing our dependence on coal" (which is dirty, pollutes the air, and is responsible for over 40% of the air pollution), is not a "war on coal", but something I support whole-heartedly. A switch to natural gas, is better, but a switch to any renewable technology is better still...

Don't much care if the teabagger's "war on coal" is today's outrage-of-the-day....

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.

Barack Obama
Sounds like an attack on coal to me

My guess is that no Dem including LJ had a problem with the imaginary "War on Women" which no Republican or conservative ever asserted... but Dem politicians wanted us all to believe.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Maybe this is what LJ is talking about. Not sure why she won't say this, unless she would actually prefer a war on coal and not just the emmisions.

Schrag told Media Matters that he believes “there is nothing wrong with coal if technology is used to remove CO2 emissions and other harmful pollutants”:

The quote was slightly out of context. I was asked about the question of a war on coal, and I explain that shutting down conventional coal plants is a critical step in moving towards a low-carbon economy. But the phrase “war on coal” is really inappropriate and I shouldn’t have used it – simply because it is not the coal that is the problem, but the emissions from coal, and what they do to our health, the health of our children, and of course the climate. So there is nothing wrong with coal if technology is used to remove CO2 emissions and other harmful pollutants. But conventional coal, that is harming our children and changing the climate system should have no place in our society.

Schrag admits he used the term "war on coal". Then retracts it once people found out about it.

And you still don't have a source for a "Team Obama Member" saying "war on coal"...But you already knew that.

It is right up there in Mary Scott's post or did you put her on ignore too?

No, actually, this guy is but one member of a private "Council of Advisers"...That does not make him a member of "Team Obama."

And yes, I read Mary's article. It was about a guy that said he DIDN'T say "war on coal", but that it was a good idea to move toward a "low-carbon economy" and getting as many coal-driven plants off-line as possible...Which I agree with...(for the THIRD time.)

And you still don't have a source for a "Team Obama Member" saying "war on coal"...But you already knew that. Caught, once again, in one of your fact-free, source-free lies.

But feel free to continue for the next several pages trying split enough hairs, and move enough "goal posts" to try to get some semblance of credibility....
