On Friday, Sarah Kliff and Sandhya Somashekhar of the Washington Post discovered that the Obama administration had buried in the Federal Register the announcement that the government won’t be able to verify whether or not applicants for Obamacare’s insurance exchange subsidies are actually qualified for the aid, in the 16 states that are setting up their own exchanges. Instead, until at least 2015, these states will be able to “accept the applicant’s attestation [regarding eligibility] without further verification.”
http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtmlThe goal here is plain as day. The Obama administration is laser-focused on making sure that enough Americans enroll onto Obamacare-subsidized health insurance platforms, because if they do, it will be politically impossible for Republicans to repeal Obamacare in the future.

Oh, yes, these mythical problems . The facts, if one was to read an honest report rather than a conservative hit piece, are that the majority of individuals applying for subsidies for their health insurance WILL have their incomes verified, and those in the minority who do not have their incomes immediately verified, will have to sign an oath as to their income, some of those will be randomly checked and the remainder will be subject to later verification. And those who are caught cheating will be subject to huge fines and penalties.Rick wrote: The problemS are many... already. NOBODY should be subsidized unless they qualify to be subsidized. This horrible bill will have enough issues as it is without relying on the honesty of the American people. It be different if the majority trusted the government, but they don't... so why should we expect people to be honest when it comes to being forced by the government to buy health insurance?
I predict these subsidies will increase faster than food stamps. And just like with college tuition, as subsidies and easy loans increase, so do the costs of the product.

What's sad is that you have complete faith in a massive bill that was never read by the people who passed it. And when it turns out to be a nightmare (even for Dems like you) who will you blame? I'm guessing you'll blame Republicans who voted against it or you'll somehow find a way to blame Bush.Something the Dog Said wrote:

It is really sad that you seem to agree with the author of the hit piece that it is terrible that low income Americans will finally be able to afford decent health care.

What is sad that conservatives keep posting the same lies. I think it is a great thing that all Americans will have access to to affordable health care finally, while keeping costs from rising exponentially as they have in the past and reducing the national debt. I just don't understand why you and other conservatives believe that is such a bad thing.Rick wrote:

When this goes into full effect, I'll enjoy reading your excuses for each and every bad consequence of the ACA... the list will be long and the consequences will be ugly.
