Anniversary - 1 year ago today - Obama warns Assad

The Pentagon is moving naval forces closer to Syria in preparation for a possible decision by President Barack Obama to order military strikes, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel suggested on Friday.

Hagel declined to describe any specific movements of U.S. forces. He said Obama asked the Pentagon to prepare military options for Syria and that some of those options ‘‘requires positioning our forces.’’

And Obama also told CNN today...

And, you know, if the U.S. goes in and attacks another country without a U.N. mandate and without clear evidence that can be presented, then there are questions in terms of whether international law supports it, do we have the coalition to make it work, and, you know, those are considerations that we have to take into account.

U.N Security Council will never mandate this... it's a soft out for the President. But anyway... I don't think we should get involved at all... I just wish the administration could just come out and say that... instead of drawing imaginary red lines and engaging in unfulfillable saber rattling.

I think because of the chemical weapons attack, the UN HAS to do something. They've mandated for far less.

Good Bob. Make a political point and then add a personal slam against a few posters. That will really encourage a civil debate.
