Less than 1% are signing up for Obamacare on exchanges

As President Obama's signature health insurance overhaul effort began to enroll new participants on Monday, some states running their own insurance exchanges saw huge levels of website traffic but paltry interest in signing up.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

don't most people do the research first? They have till next March to sign up, if I were shopping for health insurance I would get the numbers, then take some time to decide which plan works for me. Why would you frame that as a bad thing

Agree, you'd be dumb to sign up now after just two days. And I already posted about the confusion I found at the Colorado exchange site.

There is a lot of research involved here. It's similar to finding the best investments for you. People are not just buying a hot dog.

Edited to add...

I don't need Obamacare next year (I hope), but if I did I'd wait until mid December before making a decision. It's not that I think the current prices quoted will change, but I think there will be a lot more information by then and maybe other companies will join the exchange? Plus the exchange web sites will hopefully be improved.

It's not like I think Obamacare will cut costs, at least not for single people making over about $46K or couples making over about $60K (not exactly rich people). I still think costs will go up for them based on what I've seen so far.

And who knows what happens with costs in the next 1-3 years as the insurance companies adjust premiums based on what they find it actually costs them, and some of the hidden subsidies go away (per LOL's post)?

There is really no reason to sign up and pre-pay before Dec. 15. Early adopters may think Congress may stop Obamacare and maybe by signing up this week they will get in ahead of it. Doubtful but possible.

Oh, no?!??! You mean after only THREE days of the Exchanges being available, only 1% have signed up?!?!?!? I'm SHOCKED, I TELL YOU, SHOCKED....

I can only imagine what the numbers will be when it goes LIVE and people can actually start going for the healthcare they just bought?!?!?! (January, 2014...) TICK-TOCK, TOCK, TOCK.........

So, all the lies about "the damage it's already caused" is just the usual GOTeabaggerP rewarmed drivel...since it hasn'e even officially started... And yes, "WHO KNOWS WHAT MAY HAPPEN..." But I'm sure if you sit around all day and listen to the usual mindless talk-radio & FauxNews, they will invent catastrophic consequences that won't happen faster than you can write down the talking-points... lol :rofllol

Imagine my surprise...

Yep, the village insulter has returned, and is redundant as well.

The points have already been made by others (including me) in an actual discussion. But the village insulter added no info other than insults.

And I love the TICK-TOCK, just like the insulter said about Zimmerman's trial. How that work out for you?

You are a one trick Pony now. You used to be able to discuss things. Now all you have is your insults and your TICK-TOCK.

So stupid.

Awaiting the teabagger insults...
