Haunted Houses: Would You Buy One?

20 Oct 2013 07:41 #1 by FredHayek
38% of people even the ones who don't believe in ghosts wouldn't buy a haunted home but ironically haunted houses sell for about 15% above market value so somebody is willing to pay a ghost premium.

It would depend upon the energy within the house....malevolent or benevolent.....I would call
in a "specialist" to examine the 'energy"and obtain an understanding of the intent of the previous
inhabitants.....IF the intent was one of happiness, contentment and "just wanting to share the
home" I would be ok with that....IF something hideous and horrendous occurred there and the
energy was "stuck"....NOT GOOD..... either way, a good understanding of the past history of the
house would be advised......JMO..... tongue:

Excuse me for being so blunt... in the case of a "haunted anything" the only "energy" that is swirling around is in your brain.

IF you are NOT metaphysically inclined, I would expect your response.......it does NOT matter,
it is just a matter of perspective.....for many, the world was flat and it was NOT advisable to
venture to far in a floating vessel....

No... I'm rationally and scientifically inclined. A belief in a physically flat planet can be imperially disproved with hard data. Nothing in the metaphysical world has ever passed scientific testing.

I'm given you this information from personal experience. At one time I had over 1000 reference and research books on various subject dealing with the paranormal. I had my own 5 hour talk show on the subject, once a month on KRLD. I wrote articles on the topic and did personal interviews with major players in the spook business. It wasn't a hobby with me, it was an obsession.

An honest and thorough examination of the subject at hand can only bring a rational mind to one conclusion.

Belief and knowing are two different things. There is no proof of haunted anything.

You must not be aware of several shows on TV that show stuff moving with night vision cameras and record strange unexplained noises. It's all right there on TV and the people really did seem scared so how can haunted houses not be real given that strong evidence?

lol

Ah, but the bolded is NOT what I am speaking of........"spook business" is NOT the same,
our native american indian culture and MANY other cultures subscribe to a esoteric perspective....there is room for ALL perspectives, both micro and macro....JMO
