For Golden, the biggest impact of the brewery is the 300,000 people drawn to the plant tour every year, said Mike Bestor, Golden's city manager. "People will line up for a free beer," Bestor said.
It would seem to me that the impact of 1,413 employees and the property taxes paid by MillerCoors would be greater on the City of Golden than the people who tour the plant and may or may not pay a nickel to Golden.

This comment seems out of school to me, a City Manager should be concerned about potential impacts to his city as businesses operating in the city make changes that will effect the city. 30 jobs out of 1400+ is not the kind of change that will have a huge impact on much of anything. What is implied is that Miller-Coors will stop conducting tours and giving out free beer, where are the official statements from representatives of Miller-Coors providing the details of the 30 job cut?
The reader doesn't have enough information to validate Bestor's comment. Worse it might bring some to assume that tours of the brewery actually have been cancelled which could result in tourists and locals making fewer visits to Golden and spending their money while they are in Golden. Not just bad for Golden, it's bad for Miller-Coors and other businesses operating out of Golden. IMHO, Miller-Coors needs to nip this bad press in the bud by issuing a public statement giving the details on the 30 jobs that are being cut and the business case behind this action. Will individuals who lose their jobs in Golden be offered work elsewhere with Miller-Coors, assistance with finding another job, or severance pay and pensions?
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
