I am so tired of all the shady negative posts that I thought I would create a different thread so I don't have to wade through the crap.
If I could vote.....I would vote yes!
And I give thanks every day that you aren't a resident of ECFD. You manage to piss off enough in your own district. I did my homework. You failed miserably in your PCFD election. You mentioned it on this board so we checked it out. Thanks frogger. Oh yea and I was told about your periodical mental breakdowns on this board. I haven't had time to read The Ring and elsewhere on them. Talk about shady, negative posts. Seriously you don't think it affects your business? We did our homework!

Uhhhhh..breezemound....there are 30,000 folks within 10 miles of Conifer......you really think these dinky boards and the flake opinions have any impact on business.....or anything else ?? If so.......la la land....
I do not live in, or own property in, ECFPD's district, so I have no vote.
However, since all who live in the area are to some extent reliant upon the capabilities of all the fire districts in the area, I do have an interest in this issue.
IMO, all of the negative posts on the subject which have enough factual information to be responded to, have been answered. Vague and unsubstantiated claims of misdeeds by unspecified individuals at unspecified times somewhere in the past are impossible to refute, and IMO should be ignored. They add nothing useful to the discussion.
Is the current ECFPD 100% perfect? NO. If they were, it would be ridiculous to be asking for a mill levy increase. Do they have to try to improve on what has happened in the past, YES, and that IMO is what they are trying to do.
Would it be adequate or appropriate for ECFPD's revenue to be the same as it was 5, 10, or 15 years ago, under the best possible management? Maybe, if there was no additional expectation for performance, and no expansion of their responsibilities, such as the new Staunton State Park.
Do you want a stagnant fire department, that can barely get by, or one that can improve and better serve the community?
Regarding the allegations that the department will spend the additional revenue recklessly or irresponsibly, the residents of the district have full control over that. IF they are willing to attend meetings and demand answers to reasonable questions about how the district is being managed, the district cannot recklessly or irresponsibly spend the money.
If the residents are too unconcerned to be involved, they deserve whatever they get, IMO.
If I could, I would vote for 4A.
Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again - Jeanne Pincha-Tulley
Comprehensive is Latin for there is lots of bad stuff in it - Trey Gowdy
deltarey, I know that. I am just having some fun with the same people who have been so obnoxious. Tit for tat. Yes, this piddly board just doesn't mean squat. There are soooo many people who aren't aware of it or think that it stinks so bad if they are aware that they won't touch it.
But Michael Davis proved to me just what kind of person he is. But let me add that he has cleaned up his act recently and I respect that. However he hasn't bothered to answer the questions asked of him regarding trash that he complains about which was done on his watch. So we shall see.
Thank you jf for your response. So glad you don't live in ECFD because you don't have a clue about the malfeasance that has gone on even more recently. Never mind the past. Lets have Michael Davis tell you if he was part of ECFD during the time of any malfeasance and what he did about it. Haven't heard from him.
And tell me what is your response to your violating 501c(3)?

CRAP -- just frigging vote, be done with it, make a difference in your own mind. I doubt many people are reading this thread. I read it because I am bored. My ballots are on the counter, I doubt I will vote because of the crap that has been spewed here. You guys have made your point. Well done.
